I understand this, but schools have to realize that fandom will be changing also. Many fans will be turned off by the yearly turnover of the roster and most likely the results that follow. I see this making it more difficult to plan financially and drum up and maintaining the same level of continued support.

NDSU will reload with underclassmen and be in the hunt again next year.
NDSU typically has had less transfers into the program. That might change next year with how many are leaving in the portal. It will be difficult to reload with high school players and be in the hunt next season.

Yes they will. So will the Montana and SD schools. There is only 5-7 legit fcs programs left. Should be in the hunt every year.
They will reload with mainly players from their bench within the system. The recruiting focus will remain with the young players. When teams like NDSU lose those development players to the portal it shows they are doing things right.
Wonder how many seniors they graduated this season. I dont think the standard of "doing things right" is developing guys for a few years to lose them in the portal... I get its a reality of the current landscape. But the more seasons you stack of losing several key guys to portal and graduation, the harder it is to sustain success.
