We are a much better team with these signings than we were last year. Our post game will be 10x better. We have good rotating size now and four or five solid shooting players. Dunn will average what keron did. We will be a better team overall

I agree. We will have two very good 3 point shooters (Gregory and Weisner) and a good 3 point shooter (Dunn). Plus people won't be able to over-defend the perimeter because Breunig will be a strong inside presence. Kemp will finally get to play his natural position at the 4 replacing Kareem Jabar.

I'm likein' it! Andy Martin will add to the inside mix nicely. Plus, Gfeller will fit in nicely at the 3 and both Lopex and Bradshaw should provide some relief at the guard positions.

If Dunn gets hurt, we will be a totally different team. But, as long as Mario is health, I look forward to watching him breaking down the defenses with his penetration and then having 4 players he can dish off to. This will be a fun year for him.

I do hope that Tinkle (who had to over-coach this year) will kick back and turn Mario Dunn loose. Tinks doesn't want to do what Randy Rahe at Weber did when he kept such a tight leash on Damian Lillard.

Might not want to get ahead of ourselves yet on how much better we are going to be.

#1. We just lost our starting PG who was one of the better shooters on the team from 3 (higher % than Gregory in conference), all conference, in the top lists in many statistics (FG%, 3pt%, steals, etc). Also was one of the better defenders on the team. That's a pretty big blow.

#2. Our posts are unproven. We are all hoping that Breunig steps in and is an immediate all conference player. Fact is though he is fairly unproven too and had 1 point in his last year for Washington. During practices last year Tinkle mentioned how Breunig and Kemp really battled and made it sound like they were much more physical than our other posts. Now with the signing of Krslovic Tinkle is saying how he's going to bring physicality to our posts and toughness that we seemingly lacked. What changed with Kemp and Breunig?

#3. We are putting most of our hope on brand new players in multiple positions being able to step in and contribute from game 1. How often does that happen? How many JC transfers or true freshman have come in and immediately been ready? To be honest with you I can't think of any recently... Even the great ones take a while to finally start getting minutes.

I don't mean this to sound overly negative, but we have to be realistic here with the expectations and not get overly hyped up about the incoming players like we always tend to do thinking they'll step in and solve all our problems & kick ass immediately.

Fact is, this year we have 1 player returning who started more than 20 games on our roster. It may not be a rebuilding year, but right now it's certainly a year full of unknowns and questions.

I agree that it is way too early to assume the Griz will be better next year. The loss of Jamar alone is huge. Deshields will also not be easy to replace. I have high hopes that Nwosu will fill the gap in terms of outside shooting. Beyond that, who knows? I do expect Kemp to be much more effective at the four, assuming he gets to play there.

If the cupboard isn't bare it's down to a box of mac n 'cheese and a toothpick...

maybe the dumbest post on a basketball board ever, the 2014-15 team will be light years better than that no chemistry/leadership team on last season

While the loss of Jamar & Deshields is pretty big, I think this team does have the chance to be pretty good if they come together & play well as a team. They should be more balanced in all positions & if they really work together (similar to the San Antonio Spurs right now) they'll surprise some people.

who will provide the leadership next year? if a returning player, why didn't he this year?

I'm a little concerned about that as well. However, I believe Gregory can be a fine leader if he embraces the role. Last year, I think everyone on the team viewed it as "KJ's Team", and they were reluctant to lead with him there. And for all of Jamar's greatness, I didn't get the sense he was a team leader (although I believe he certainly could have been as well).

Kareem was the leader & earned that role with all that he's done for the Griz. I don't think the problems from this past year were as much due to leadership as the tremendous lack of productivity with the inside game. It's actually amazing the worst rebounding team in the entire country finished 17-13.

Jamar was a reluctant leader. A terrific player who was thrust into a roll that Will fulfilled before him. Because of his skills, the team, the fans, and certainly the coaches expected him to take on a leadership roll. He did his best but leading others was not his bag. Being the best basketball player he could be, was. He succeeded and the Griz were better for it. 2014-15 IMO looks to be an exciting year for our team. I think we are much better balanced and as far as leadership is concerned, Gregory-Dunn will fill that responsibility just fine. It's going to be a fun season.

I'm a scout on East Coast. Name Jake. Anyone gone to hudl.com to watch Tyler Harville? He led NEPSAC last year at Vermont Academy with 125 made threes and led state of Kentucky in made threes the year before. If u use user I'd [email protected] and password greg1210 and then click on library at least watch 13 min mark to 7 min mark of first half against Cushing Academy against Kaleb Joseph (Syracuse) and Jalen Adams (Kansas). Tyler led all scorers with 28. I think he is preferred walk on at Hawaii but was very interested in at least walking on at Montana. Very deep range and quick release. #4 in white.

EG, I posted the link earlier too. The kid can shoot. Just cannot tell how athletic he is, or his defensive skills from that little video. Then again, it froze my computer and I did not watch more than a few minutes.
