Other FCS Games (Nov 23): Some Crucial

Okay, still lots going on.

BUT: Some decent news from the CAA ... which tends to suck up at-large bids. Towson (win) and Maine (loss) were going anyway. Yes, New Hampshire won (now 7-4) and is surely in the running for a bid. But Delaware and W&M both lost, making them 7-5. There are just too many teams with four or fewer losses for a 5-loss team to get into the playoffs, IMO. So the CAA gets, at most, 3 bids. Since they might have had as many a five in the running, this is a good thing.

True, but at this point, the Big Sky doesn't care. Can't imagine the Big Sky will get in more than 3, with the Cat and SU losses, so now it's just a question of who gets seeded. Or does SU have a chance? Am I missing something?

I don't know what the committee will be thinking but I think SUU at least still has a good argument with a 8-4 record, from a power conference, win over an FBS, and 3 of their 4 losses coming to Top 10 FCS or FBS teams. It helps the SoCon had a down year, as well.

My thought too.

But SUU didn't get any love earlier in the year, so I'd have to say its a pretty long shot. (We can hope, is all.)

At the moment, Lamar (5-6) is (barely) hanging onto a lead against #6 McNeese (9-2). Since the Eag lucked out (some luck, some talent, actually ) we should be rooting for Lamar, just to help the Big Sky.

(But McNeese seems to have got its act together, so an upset seems like a forlorn hope.)
