I have had some time to digest the last two weeks, so I am not saying this in a knee jerk emotional reaction way.Bobby's teams are known for starting slow but steadily building momentum, peaking in December. Anyone with a basic understanding of football can see the potential and talent in this squad. We're going to be just fine this season.
I'm not worried about the players on the field. The offense is solid, has moved the ball and scored almost at will (as long as the brakes weren't put on and they went to sleep). No scoring in the 2nd half was on the coaching staff letting the players get comfortable and predictably taking their foot off the gas. The 2nd half was all about failing to adjust to UND's adjustments.
I am not worried about the defensive players. There is talent galore, they are hungry, and you KNOW they don't like losing. THEY did their job. Our DC(s) have no ability to adjust, and well, are simply incompetent.
They have been absolutely ineffective in eight quarters of play. The defense hasn't been MIA, they were KIA the last two weeks.
I'm not a coach, But I know that you have to change something up when your defense can't stop anything. UND and Mo. State did whatever they wanted on the field and the defense was completely unable to stop them.
I expect Morehead to romp all over this vaunted defense again. IDC what anyone says, there is aggressive, there is over aggressive and there is St00pid. The DC's have just looked St00pid the last two games.
The season could be over before it starts if this keeps up. They can't afford another close win or loss with either of the next two teams.
