Olson - Anderson

I haven’t seen a single defender stop Andersen once he sees a gap and gets up to full speed. I’m not even being hyperbolic.

I haven't seen anyone stop him in any situation in the last 6 or 7 games.

Nor have I seen the Cats play.

That was funny.

..once Anderson gets running is there anybody that can stop him?...he must be stop before he
starts his gallop...once he breaks a150 pound safety will not stop him so lm hoping the Griz will
beef up the safeties..
Deploy Robertson.

i think kemajic has something here,,,,,Robertson a pac 12 talent with size and is a hitter...it may be that Bobby spies or shadows Anderson all over the field with Robertson.....just a thought....there would be some real collisions between these two and it just might work.

I like this idea

MSU has made our linebackers look terrible the last 2 years, including Buss. Hoping Dante will not let that happen this year.
No, Semore made our LB's look terrible.

Troy Andersen is certainly an amazing athlete. But he did not run all that great against WIU. Personally I think we will bottle him up with our LB play but he is going to surprise people through the air.
We will beat the cats with our edge speed. We will run lots of misdirection to neutralize their advantage in the trenches and sqeek out the win Saturday.

That's why Stitt is gone and Bobby is back. If Troy is going to beat us, it better be through the air. If he runs roughshod over this D, then there needs to be some serious questions asked of our D coordinator. Unless we win ;) ;) ;)

TA is the best athlete I've seen on a BSC football field in a long time. I don't know assigning a spy is a solution. Most of his runs are immediate run plays. Not draws, delays, or broken down pass plays. Teams have to stack the box and try to get in the backfield before he gets a full head of steam. Get guys in gap assignment and win the LOS. Don't like the idea of assigning a guy to read and react on a QB like TA. He's too fast and explosive. Need to beat him to the running lanes and contain.

He's nowhere close to Chris Murray in speed or athleticism. Good player but not even the best one at state.

Define close.

Murray- PR 100m- 11.7. 200m. 24.3
Andersen- PR- 10.88. 200m 23.4

Are you sure Murray is faster? Andersen may not be as shifty but possibly he chooses not to be and chooses contact. But he has truly elite speed.

Perhaps we need Sulser to spy him.   At least he'd be able to catch him!

He's not. Even Murray said last year TA was faster. That said....being able to throw would be nice...

Isn't that crazy? And Travis Jonsen is faster than TA.

If you were to compare two players on the field that remind you of one another it is Anderson & Olson. Same build, same motor, same size, same desire, total effort every play. If I'm not mistaken they both even started out as linebackers. It will definitely be interesting when these two collide this weekend!

This will be the battle to watch and decide the game. The Griz have 2 linebackers in Olson and Buss that can spy and equalize Anderson all game.

This is the main reason I think Griz will win, Anderson will have one of his worst rushing games of the year.

Fun fact, only EWU has held Troy under 100 yards in games he's started all year, he only had 94.

Over Under on Troy getting 100 rushing yards?
Over 100 rushing yards, under 250 total yards.

The Cat fans would take that. He averages 183 total yards as is.
I hope it’s under 140 total.

We will beat the cats with our edge speed. We will run lots of misdirection to neutralize their advantage in the trenches and sqeek out the win Saturday.

Troy had one of his worse YPG games against WIU, but he still ran 24 times for 145 yards and 2 TDs. Only averaged 6 YPC (he is averaging 7.9 now). Also keep in mind this was his first start, the beginning of the "Troy Experiment", and our offense looks different now with Matt Miller as OC.

Honestly I keep hoping he will surprise teams through the air, but he hasn't, and I don't think he will and I don't think the staff will ask him too. If the Cats have some bigger hits through the air it will be Jonsen or Kassis throwing it if I had to guess. But at this point the Cats aren't going to try anything that we haven't tried since Miller took over. We are going to have a combination of Andersen, Jonsen and maybe Kassis (wildcat) taking snaps, and we are going to run the ball.

I would take the under. Around 70

I really like TA, but he hasnt played against Linebackers like Montana has. We have the 2 best linebackers in the BigSky, playing at the same time. This is going to be a tough day for TA.

I in turn really like your linebackers. But all we do well is run. TA has went off on everyone he's played.

Sac and UND had just under 300 yards rushing against you. Poly had 416. Davis 195 and Idaho 160. Teams haven't had the hardest time running against you, great backers and all.

If you guys hold TA under 70 yards you'll win this game by 50...
