This was a bit before my time...I do remember the stadium on Higgins. This looks like the present location of Washington Grizzly. Why did they move off campus to Higgins? Thanks for the info...
Of course I remember the Chimney Corner.Spanky said:Do you remember The Chimney Corner?
Love this photo.bgbigdog said::thumb: Many thanks for sharing.
Thanks for that info. My wife asked me what that one was and I didn't know. :thumb:Grizzoola said:That white 3-story building on the NE corner of Main was a "temporary" for classrooms for the returning vets from WWII, financed by the GI Bill. I attended classes in that bldg in late '50s.
For years my barber was at the Chimney Corner Barber Shop. Only lived a few blocks from there growing up.Spanky said:Do you remember The Chimney Corner?
You are ALL very welcome, personally, I am having a blast going down this Griz memory lane. Thank you all.bgbigdog said::thumb: Many thanks for sharing.
The Field House is in plain site in the picture (before recent expansion). Anyone that has been to Washington Griz Stadium knows the stadium is just east of the Field House (Adams Center).PeauxRouge said:I don't think that is present day Wa-Griz Site. You can see main hall right there. I know I'm a young guy comparatively, but this seems further South from current stadium.
You're welcome. As kemijac said in the post above, it was known to us as just "The Field House" when that was taken.griznative24 said:I'm still a youngin' but this photo is fascinating. That is the Adam's Center in the background, correct? Thanks for sharing!
