Only a handful of folks there. Beautiful day though. My main takeaway is that practices are very high energy, efficient, and lots of yelling. Lots of cussing, lots of coaching. Shann, Justin, and cb coach are the quieter, more laid-back types.

In the 11-11 there was lots of 3-3-5 as has been noted, often with Epperly, the transfer Robertson, and Sandry on the field. Robby will be in the mix too. In turn the offense was mostly pass oriented. I like our qb depth, Tanner Wilson throws some really nice balls, Sneed will be a nightmare in the open field. I feel good about this position.

I wouldn't put much weight on the depth chart at this point. However, Kobey Eaton is getting a lot of reps across from Nash. Won't be surprised if he gets significant time at corner this year. Seems like a more natural position for him than wr. Without pads its hard to judge much because the wr know they won't get hit, but I expect the passing game to be good this year. Lots of use of the TE. Hill is getting lots of looks. He's getting his ass chewed a lot, but he and Bingham are both a big threat in the passing game. I think the coaches see this and are really incorporating them as much as possible. Who knows what the offense will look like by midseason, but wont be surprised if it is fast paced with a passing game that really uses the middle of the field, inside slants, etc. This would be a welcome site from the past few years.

I focused on the o and d line drills. No surprise, our D line should be really tough next year if healthy. I don't know if Eli Alford will redshirt or not, but he is hard to block. Also, Brayden Deming is coming along and should be a good one in the future. On the o-line I was impressed with the walkon Kolton Kleintz (sp?)(6-7 275). Germer's really coaching him up. He's just a freshmen, but I think he'll stick and earn his way into the rotation at some point in the coming years.

Thx for the report! That was much better than mine so I will give you true enthusiasm!

Spot on. Also, some of the guys faked enthusiasm

Like we do when you put on a chick flick. That might be sexist but it is true.

I understand. I'm not a huge fan of chick flicks. Not offensively sexist at all. Stereotyping the genders, perhaps, but there's a reason stereotypes exist. Many would suggest that women fake enthusiasm when you put on a football game. Uhh....no. My biggest issue with the male friend I watched a lot of football with last season was that he'd change the channel during commercials and I'd miss the commentary and kickoffs. He didn't understand what the big deal was.

Now did he change the channel to another game? That’s acceptable. If he changed it to one of his programs, then that’s out of line.

Changed it to the History Channel, ffs.

What’s going on with Jensen? Does he have an injury preventing 11 on 11 work?

No, he's fine. Should be fun to watch the qb battle in the fall. I'm just more interested in the depth behind him right now.

Maybe that’s it. Just was curious that he’s been in the drills but not 11 on 11 work with these first two non-padded practices.

Maybe the coaches have a lot more evidence on film of what he can do and are wanting to see what the others can do.

Thanks AG, Kolton is a 6’8” long snapper and I think he played some defense in High school also. Good athlete nice to hear him being mentioned.

Sounds like he’s bulked up enough to maybe be in the mix at tackle. He already had the frame but I believe he came of high school like 245 to 250.

Planning to be at tomorrow’s! Pads coming on I believe, should get a little more physical.

Great info Alaska Griz! Heard from another guy there that he loved what he saw from orngaizaiton, hustle, and effort.

Thought they claimed clean slate and every position is open...etc etc etc. Strange If he isn't doing the same as others if not some physical issue *especially in non contact practices

There have only been two practices. Maybe they are giving a good look to the other QBs. Maybe he is injured. Maybe he is sick. Maybe they are going to move him to LB. Just trying to give dd a reason.

Thanks AG. It is exciting hearing from fans that can now attend the OPEN practices. Good stuff happening and it is fun to hear about it.

I LOVE the open practices. It's a glimpse into the prologue of the story that will begin to unfold in the fall. One of those guys will rise to the top and succeed in the NFL. How cool is it to watch him from the beginning of his college career? Bobby Ball is the best. #RTD

Man, I hope you are right. The reason I watch college football is to speculate as to which kids will play on Sunday. Usually you can tell by their workout schedules and routines. I have my thoughts which ones on this team will play on Sundays.

The reason I watch football on sundays is cus it’s the only football on. I’d definitely prefer to watch college football, obviously Montana football in particular.

Feel free to send me a PM with your predictions. I’ll save it and share it and make sure you get credit down the road if you’re right. If you’re not, I’ll trash it. :)

So is a day 3 practice report banned or can the relatively vanilla, but very helpful and interesting reports from BW still come out? If not why not just shut this message board down until September unless we want to talk about social issues? Geez what a load of crap. There are satellites, drones and cameras that can capture the activity down to centimeter pixel resolution and they can be implemented easily without the feeble threats from the UM athletic department.

UM staff has BW in a cellar at gun point as to not allow him to talk Griz football.
