Montana stifled Weber State at all turns Thursday night in Missoula.
When the slugfest was over, the Griz handed the Wildcats their third straight loss by a score of 75-57, clinching the regular-season title for Montana. Montana (22-7, 15-2 Big Sky) claimed the No. 1 seed for next week’s conference tournament. The Wildcats (19-10, 12-5) dropped to fourth place and can finish no higher than third.

“We’ve got to try and get some energy back,” WSU head coach Randy Rahe said. “We’ve got some fatigue. Our guys played really hard tonight, but we’re missing that extra juice, that extra pop that we had two weeks ago. “We don’t have it right now. It’s not for lack of effort. We’re just low on juice.” . . . Griz held the Wildcats to their worst 3-point shooting night of the season in quantity and efficiency. Weber State, the second-best 3-point shooting team in the country by percentage, shot 2 of 11 for 18 percent. WSU was averaging 22.3 deep attempts per game. Montana turned the game into a one-on-one affair with its defensive strategy, and Weber finished with three assists on 22 field goals.
