Congratulations on the W. Didn't get to see or hear the game, but the outcome is fun. BSC 2 MVFC1 . Yes NDSU trounced Cal Poly.

+ two FBS wins. Not a bad weekend at all for the beleaguered BSC.
Couldn’t agree more. Who knows, could help come playoff selection!

Great win by a very young Griz team! Could they have played better, of course. Did young players make young player mistakes, of course. That was Northern Iowa over there not the Blachington School for the First Time footballers, credit where credit is due. I think the attitude was excellent, the execution needs work. Calhoun looked the part of a real CB, and the O-line who were so inexperienced they'd only ever seen football on TV will only get better. Drake are going to wish they had gotten to play Jewel or Bjork or whomever they were cancelled against today.

See, that there is just some damned subtle humor that’s gonna go unnoticed and unappreciated by a lot of the mouthbreathers on here. Well done, Sask. Well done, indeed.

We've seen it happen before the Griz opening the second half in a funk. I don't know if it's coming out of the tunnel into a half deserted stadium that's had all the energy sucked out of it or what. But it happens and it seems like when it does they're never able to get it back while, as we saw tonight, the opponent to the contrary seems energized. Certainly any awe or intimidation factor, real or imagined, of playing in front of a noisy full house has slipped away. :coffee:

This sounds like bobcat nation after our win. Only we played a good second half and you guys played a good first half. Same result though!

WTF...?

Griz are very young, pregame show said we have more freshman starting than seniors. Great wibn by a very young team.

If it gets to the end of the season, and the selection committee is looking at games... I think this is the win that will put the GRIZ into the playoffs. Way to go guys.
Feels good to be a griz again! #RTD. #FTC

Game suggests lack of film/momentum gave result to the first half.
Second half good adjustments by UNI. Griz couldn't respond in the same fashion.
Line played better then led to believe.
Clean up ST.
Some challenges? Missed an easy fumble and 4th and long play was at least a yard short.
Calhoun, impressive.
Flowers, young.
Dante, wow.
Sneed, is a hard hat and lunch pail kid. Got some cleaning to do but he shows tons of promise.
I saw fire in that team that has been missing for sometime.
Tough UNI team.
Another 5 mins in that game, the W would be an L.
Congrats on the win boys!
Enjoy the late night liquor.

For me, one of the most glaring issues was dropped passes in critical situations. The Curran drop late in the 4th comes to mind. Crap like that changes the complexion of a game. Clean that up and some of UNI’s scoring might not have happened. In the 2nd half, the O could not give the D a break. Against a big, veteran O-Line like UNI’s, those guys in the D line will get gassed without a break. Staying on the field on O helps the D get off.

That being said, this team had a TON of fight. While execution was lacking in the 2nd half, they stayed physical, tough, and determined. Hauck and company have hammered out a team that fights hard. That’s a great place to start.

PS- after watching this game, I think we lose if Gresch was starting.

A) several times Sneed took off even with a perfect pocket formed around him.
B) Running game...absent
C) Clock management...if they’d have managed the clock better the two drives BEFORE the last one there wouldn’t have BEEN a last one....
D) Special teams...looked like Stitt came back about 3 minutes into the 4th quarter to coach special teams...never seen so many basic mistakes made in such a short time....
E) Refs weren’t anything special, but god DAMN that was a piss poor spot on the 4/17 play. Isn’t that challengable?

Concerning E-UNi wisely got up to the line and snapped the ball before the replay officials could see the replay and notify the refs to review it. This is where Hauck should have called a time-out (we had 2 or 3 left) and then the replay guys would have seen it was clearly short of the first down and the Griz clinch the game right there. Even if you aren't 100% sure, why not use a time-out if you have any doubts? Luckily Farley wasted all 3 time-outs in the 2nd half in non-essential times despite trailing 26-0 and that cost them too.

Having had a night to sleep on it after watching from the stands, the first half was great, second not so much. Players seemed flat and out of place. However, concerns that we had about the O-line and D-backs are unwarranted. The O-line didn't have the beef to open any holes for the runners, but they pass blocked well. I think there was only one sack, and that was probably due to Sneed's happy feet.
D-backs owned the first half, then started to get a little sloppy, but still able to cover well. Scheme was perfect, and if the refs had half an ounce of integrity, they wouldn't have been on the field as long as they were.
Special Teams was vastly improved but still made some glaring errors. JLM and that reception on the 5 then running back was a mistake.
Sneed is good as a running QB, but there seemed to be times that he looked to run even though JLM was streaking across the field on the goal line.
Overall, a good lesson, and not a back breaker that it could have been if we lost. I am looking forward to the rest of the season with more happiness then before.

I would expect a couple of the second half special teams decisions to be front and center in team meetings this week.

Agreed. Completely unnecessary comment.
