I've been saying he should have been given the starting shot after Brady ever since Brady became injured, for all of the reasons we are seeing right now. He is young and will continue to make occasional mistakes as he grows, but I have felt like he was our best option all season, although it was hard to argue against Gustafson after the NDSU game.

Happy to see him perform well.

I doubt Gustafson can be cleared in the next three weeks; that would be a fast recovery. Makena has already thrown more td passes in the first half than Brady did in an entire game.

BUT with 2 guys deep, we kick it directly to him vs the other way. At least if he goes and gets it he has to run over that way to field it
