Assistant head coach or not, this guy is a weakness.
I'd say opposite...griz play better when the coaches are forced to scrap the game plan that the collective brain trust has come up with. When the say "fuck it, let's do the opposite of what we think will work," that's when they are at their best.Grizbeer said:First i will say that I really don't know enough to know what I am talking about, so take this with a grain of salt. But today I saw a lot of runs where there was a hole, maybe a small hole, but it was there, and Canada bounced outside for a loss or no gain. I don't think you can put that on the line, or the coaches. i will admit I was frustrated at times too, but where there seemed more of a problem with the line was in pass protection, as Jordy always seemed on the run. But maybe that is my bias or perception.
Really though, I believe if Montana is able to defend Adams' "throw up a prayer and let a receiver run under it" passes that go for long gains and accounted for most of their touchdowns, the o-line probably gets to keep pounding EWU in the mouth and by the 4th quarter wins going away. Our team and game plan doesn't seemed designed to win when trailing, but our vaunted front 7 on defense has not been dominant enough against good teams to allow the game plan to work. Would also help if the defense could stop letting teams score in the first quarter.

I want the coaches to answer why our right side of the line got OWNED all game long? Not to say every play, but when we needed to complete a play, it was almost always ruined by EWU. I thought Poehls and Kistler were all NFL. With what I saw, they are sitting home this fall. I don't blame them, I blame Gragg. Hard to believe they went from all league to all league losers all by themselves.
Yes, losers is harsh, and only there to prove my point.
Been happening all year long. Face a good team and go into a shell. Where is the DOLA?
