Bobby will offer it to Timm first. I hope he says no and we get Pease in here with Selle as an assistant OC.

Hasn't Pease crashed and burned a couple of times?

- Named OC at Indiana in 2010 but left Indiana 2 weeks later to assume the OC job at Boise (was WRs coach there before)

- Left Boise late 2011 to go to Florida, "parted ways" with Florida in 2013

- Hired back by Peterson now at UW to be WRs coach for the start of the 2014 season, was let go at the end of the 2015 season.

- 2016 announced at UTEP OC, team wins 4 games. 3 weeks into 2017 UTEP offense is 2nd worst in the FBS and he's fired.

------

So he's been let go from 3 of his last jobs.

Could just be me, but you may have identified a noteworthy trend there BW. In all fairness, not something that I’d want on my resume.

His coaching style is belittle and publically shame players... no thanks

Coach Selle played for Bobby and might be the best choice? A Montana native who knows the players and the state.. I would be OK with that. He's a good choice in my book...I HOPE THE PLAYERS ARE FEELING THE VIB
IN THE AIR The bear is out of it's cage!!!

Bring Back Robin!

We would literally have campus riots if Pflugrad returned. [emoji23]

I am sorry but I cannot understand why. I have known Robin since he first stepped foot on the campus. Anyone who knows Robin knows that he is all class and always has been. He and Jim O'Day are a couple of the most maligned people that I know and completely undeserved because they were scapegoats for a weak president and Pat Williams IMO.

That being said I am sure he is not returning but I for one would welcome him with open arms and he would be an asset to the University, to the Missoula community and to the state of Montana.

I agree with you. Robin and Jim are excellent individuals in and outside of athletics. I would welcome both back in a heartbeat.

However, considering the backlash we witnessed with the Hauck hiring, I can’t imagine handing the anti-Griz athletics “activists” that kind of ammunition. It would probably get pretty ugly.

It seems that the word on the street is that Timm Rosenbach is the obvious candidate for the OC position. I am not so sure that we should jump to that conclusion.

After leaving Nevada Vegas as the OC, Timm was hired at Adams State in Colorado - a school in the same conference with Colorado School of Mines.

The 3 years prior to Timm being named as head coach, Adams state had season records of (2012) 8-3, (2013) 7-4, (2014) 4-7.

Timm's record has been (2015) 3-8, (2016) 2-8, and (2017) 4-7. During that time, he has been the head coach and receivers coach. His offensive coordinator for all 3 years has been Josh Blankenship who played at Eastern Washington when Timm was the OC. You may recall that Blankenship was the transfer from Tulsa who played only one year at EWU (graduate transfer??) who had a great year at EWU.

It seems that Timm's best years as OC were one year at Montana and 2 years at EWU.

But since those years, he hasn't had great success. It may be premature of us to be throwing that name around as the heir apparent.

But, he and Bobby no doubt have a relationship that enables Bobby to more clearly evaluate Timm. Will be interesting to see which way Bobby goes with that position, but I don't think that an impartial observer would assume that Timm is the obvious candidate, given his performance after leaving UM and EWU.

The offense at Adams St. has been good, but recruiting there is tough and the 6, 8, 10 hour bus rides are very long. Plus, Missoula is much closer to his fishing house around Livingston.

There is a big difference between recruiting to Alamosa and recruiting to Golden. Golden has become a pretty hip and happening sort of Denver suburb, Alamosa is a high dusty place without much going on.

I like this choice! Selle knows the strengths of the players! Rosenbach and Pease aren’t good. Like to see enthusiasm and smarts.

I want a boring OC who everyone hates. A guy who lets a dominate OL impose their will come mid 3rd quarter.

That is as beautiful as it gets. That’s all I want.

I can’t remember all the details but there was a game back in the day when the Griz got the ball with about 7 minutes left. We didn’t score but the other team’s offense never saw the field again that day. And it was awesome.

I'm for Pflugrad. I don't get the fear of the backlash. His crime was defending a student-athletes character whose was found innocent of the crime he was charged with. The only backlash the school would receive would be from the misinformed activists. I should think/hope the majority of Missoula would be more welcoming.

As I stated before, I am 100% for a Pflugrad return. However, considering the backlash over the Hauck hire from... some feminists, I would think it would be ugly. Remember, we can present our arguments using logic and facts, but all they need is a biased, misinformed counter opinion and a platform to spew their misinformation.

I kind of figured the assistants being retained would be publicly known by now. Presumably Green and Germer. Someone on here has said Bonnicksen and Nicholson sounded like they would be retained. It makes sense for the ones Hauck is going to keep them to get them on the road recruiting and letting the others move on to other opportunities. Maybe that has happened but it'd be nice to get some public word. It seems we get kept in the dark a lot.
