Stuckey is the conversation.

Eastern Wa. used to play with a little less talent and a lot of team ball. Last year it was defense defense defense in Missoula.

Montana is writing a new book on team ball. No shortage of talent.

With nothing to lose Eastern was leading 29-22 and I think by three pretty late in Bozeman. Stuckey shot 30% for the game while Montana shot 63% as a team in Missoula.

The Criswell/Stuckey match-up is worth the ticket price alone but the one I think will be the key is the Strait/Butorac battle underneath. Strait is a bonified star and "Booty" is really starting to come into his own. He suffered a bout with the flu for about ten days(Stuckey is currently battling it)but came out of it vs MSU. The other match-up is only Sr. Deuce Smith and Matthews. I'm afraid that Dlouhly will destroy Williams outside going in so what's that leave?? The bench...we're in trouble.

I figure if EWU was to win, they have to hold Griz below 75 points.

At home, that will be a very difficult task to do considering the Griz have had their best week in practice and pretty much dominated PSU (especially in the second half).

Stuckey will definitely not be enough to beat the Griz.

Dlouhy has not been getting the ball on the edge and slaming like last year. Maybe saving it for tonite. He still makes the D tough. Stait just ignores the defense and scores before he gets the ball by moving without it. Over the years Criswell has been great at times but he is so much better and consistent this year. The bench ...you are in trouble but not alone. NAU was down by 19 and won. Boise State was down a bunch and UW-Milwaukee was down 5 at the 5 mark. All of the conference games have been a struggle. Montana can play a little better than their 15-3 record would indicate.

BB, I watched Strait several times in H.S. and AAU and was impressed then and now look at him., he seems like he keeps getting better and better...

Is Butarac related to the Butarac's in Missoula, does anyone know?
I am thinking of Tom and Dee Butarac

I feel a key matchup in this game is 6-9 vs 6-5, can Hasquet score at-will (basically)?

Possible starters:

Eastern Washington

5-Matt Penoncello, 6-5, fr. 4.7 ppg

34-Kellen Williams, 6-5, so. 10.1 ppg

43-Paul Butorac, 6-10, jr. 9.9 ppg

3-Rodney Stuckey, 6-4, fr. 22.9 ppg

10-Deuce Smith, 6-3, sr. 7.8 ppg

Montana

2-Jordan Hasquet, 6-9, fr. 6.2 ppg

11-Matt Dlouhy, 6-6, jr. 8.4 ppg

34-Andrew Strait, 6-8, so. 17.4 ppg

12-Kevin Criswell, 6-2, sr. 15.9 ppg

44-Virgil Matthews, 6-3, sr. 10.0 ppg

i predict Ellis gets a double/double - 10 steals, 10+ points. Stuckey is a great shooter, but he leads the league in turnovers. Ellis is a great thief, and ball handling is one area where is smaller height is an advantage.

I am scared of Stuckey

he sounds like the real deal!!!!

You have the right to be scared:

Stuckey was the high school player of the year in the state of Washington two years ago. He sat out last season because of academic reasons, but is considered to be the best player to have entered the Big Sky Conference in decades.

Washington, the impressive post player from PSU that all the Griz fans raved about, was a transfer from Univ of Washington.

Wow, no kidding. Watching him play though, you can see it. He's serious trouble.

No doubt, JahGriz!

I bet Krysto will land someone like him (even out of the state of Washington) talent wise if he keeps building this thing (championship calibre teams). Which I definitly think he will!
