And I think you'd feel right at home. Don't you think Amarillo is like a much larger Billings...not just appearance and location but from a political, social and economic POV? And Austin for the same reasons...basically a very large Missoula.TxGriz said:cclarkblues said:Billings is a great town because I live here. So KMA.

I'll agree with ya Rimrock. I own a small business here in Billings and there is quite a bit of work here. The new Belt Loop road is supposed to start up this fall. That should be a pretty major project. Kinda funny how they're attempting to connect Lockwood to Zimmerman Trail tho. But I'm not gonna whine about the work lol. A couple years ago I was ready to drop everything and move to Missoula and when I finally got a job offer they only offered $26 an hour. I'd be eatin hamburgers and hotdogs every night on that kind of wage. It's not the prettiest place in the state but people make a decent living here.rimrockgriz said:YOU TALK OUT YOR A$$ LIKE MANY POSTERS HERE...I MOVED TO BILLINGS in the 90's gave up my v-shaped back for a v-shaped wallet. I've never been happier. I lived in 4 w. mt. cities the first 35 yrs of my life. You can dig all you want while I laugh all the way to the banks. Missoula siphons off the rest of the state...PERIOD. No problems...I still love zula and enjoy the weekends more and more each year in the fall. I love watching them trip all over themselves every time i open my wallet  It's impossible to keep up with the building here if you have a real job. Quite stunning :thumb:br fan said:If you're looking at size, the statistics can be misleading. The Missoula "metropolitan area" is technically about 110,000, while the Billings metropolitan area is around 160,000. But the Missoula metropolitan area only includes Missoula County, while the Billings metropolitan area includes Yellowstone and Carbon counties. If you include the counties of Ravalli and Lake that Missoula serves, which are similar in distance from Missoula as the those areas covered by the Billings metropolitan area, Missoula is about 200,000 people within about 50 miles.
Roger that..The Heights is finally going to get their due. I think once the connector is done the Heights will go kaboom!! The shopping draw is over 500,000 now, with Wyo and Bakken it's pretty amazing on the weekends.NLGrizFan said:I'll agree with ya Rimrock. I think the economy is heading back to recovery in Billings. The bridge project that connects Lockwood to Mary and Bench (Yellowstone River Bridge) should be a good sized project. But the last I heard it was gonna be phase 3 of the project. I also heard that they were gonna bore a tunnel thru thru the rims and tie into 64th off of Airport Rd/Hwy 3. I doubt that'll happen because of the hefty price but... one can hope, right?rimrockgriz said:Roger that..The Heights is finally going to get their due.
