No TV-How About Radio?

Well, yes, in a way ... but with justification. As I recall, news reports about the latest contract between the NCAA and ESPN stated that FCS playoff games would be "broadcast." That was/is the deal.

For most people, "broadcast" means they can get it on a TV without jumping through a lot of hoops, although it might be on an unusual channel somewhere. Technically, I suppose, sending it out on the web is a kind of "broadcast." But in normal usage, "streaming" is not a form of broadcast. I'm sure the lawyers made sure that ESPN could weasel out of actually broadcasting the games by "making them available" ... so we're stuck. But people who don't want to watch on their computers (or phones) have reason to be pissed.

Just trying to help. Honestly, if someone really wants to watch the game, but only if he can turn the dial to Channel 4, and there are multiple (very simple) other ways to watch the game, and he refuses to do any of them, I justifiably wonder just how much he wants to watch the game.

I really want to order a pizza for the game, but my very favorite place is closed. Multiple other places that are good, but nah. So, I have to eat iceberg lettuce instead. How much would you say I want to order a pizza versus complain about a place being closed? IDK, guys.

I want fried chicken and in 'Merica there is no reason why I should have to settle for pizza. None.

Why do people post the day of the game trying to figure this stuff out? For the two Root games, people had no idea what a VPN was the day of the game, one was 30 minutes before the start.

???

Ask on Tuesday or something.

If you want fried chicken and it’s not available, you just have to go hungry. Other foods are not what you want, so you have no options. You deserve that fried chicken, damn it.

Ya but only if Double Front is open. If they ain’t open, I guess I don’t get no fried chicken.

Living in Vegas, the only way I could get Griz games was thru this site:

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=380520

Certainly not the best but better than nothing. Nice feature is stats updated in real time like QB rating, etc.

Listened to the Griz game all the way through against EWU. Go back to your broadcast at the end of the first quarter. You gave us color about Freddie Roberson's first catch/carrie but you never gave us down and distance from that carry. Love you guys but you have to remember we are counting on you because we can't follow the game.

Spanky, go down to Best Buy and get a Roku device. It will turn your TV into a smart TV and let you watch it on ESPN+. And the friendly salesperson will show you how to hook it up to your TV. It’s about forty bucks.

Hurry, before the store closes!

Thanks All Weather! I’ll do that the next game if there isn’t tv again.

It works for this tech-challenged fan! :thumb:

Well, I tried to tune in but it told me I had to do an application which I did hours before. So I listened to the radio and they did a great job. Disappointing for this alum not to have television coverage for such an important game. A streaming service that’s difficult to access doesn’t cut the mustard. Wonderful win for the Griz!!

ESPN+ really isn’t difficult to access. If I can do it, anybody can do it.

It is not difficult to access, it just takes a little more effort than turning on your television.

Too much hassle. I’ll listen to the radio! One of the best teams in the history of UM football and loyal fans all over Montana don’t have television coverage for a key game!

Everybody has TV coverage. If you are unwilling to learn how to open a new tab and go to ESPN.COM, then....

Honestly, if it’s “too much hassle” for you, without even trying, I have to question how badly you really want to watch it. I wouldn’t have missed that game for anything. NOTHING would have been too big of a hassle.

Same. Spanks has spent more keystrokes complaining than it would have taken to sign up for and login to ESPN+. I’m thinking he’s just doing a bit.

To be fair, I initially signed up for ESPN- early in the season and spent a month watching knitting and crochet tournaments. After my wife saw the ad in Reader's Digest for ESPN+ we finally started getting the games. It's confusing, I get it, and people drive too fast anymore.

 That reminds me, I’m on the market for a new Davenport, but Sears-Roebuck was closed for some reason. Guess I’ll just sit on the ground.
