I agree. This decision was made quickly because it was the most likely option to provide stability and retain recruits and staff alike. Trust me Kennedy will be evaluated for an entire year and a decision made either way. It’s been said multiple times on here… folks need to take it in for awhile.

I must have missed the rule change that prohibits HCs under contract from being "launched" at any time. When did this change?

And if you want to hang on to most of your players (and staff, if the HC is retiring, like here), you want to be the last one looking for a coach and hire from within, rather than the first, because the players have already created relationships with their position coaches (and likely didn't already jump into the portal at least partially because of that).

I have a feeling Pease may be out the door himself in a year or 2, he will stick around for 2026 to give an experienced hand and to assist Kennedy but after that I personally doubt it.

I also think BK is an interim HC in all but name since he has to "prove himself" per Haslam and only a 1 year Contract, with how he coached up our WRs last year I'm hopeful he can do that with the entire team.

Delaney didn’t do a terrible job. His teams played hard, and beat the cats in the face of some considerable headwind like vacated scholarships and terrible national press.

Pretty dense. Of course a HC can be launched at any time and paid the full amount of his contract.

We will see in 21 days (5 days until the 15 day portal opens) if the players agree.

As a cat fan, I wanted bobby to stay a few more years.
