Well the Middle East was hopping tonight so the drone was not available for me to use. Maybe Obama could skip a few golf trips so the feds can buy another drone. Hell they could even dock it in MT as a border security tool when not being used for griz football practices. Anyway, I was able to overcome my short stature and stand on my tip toes and peak over the southwest corner of the stadium. There were a few other fans there but they lacked the cold weather training I received in the agency to stay out there all practice. Only a few thing stuck out tonight.

-The Marshal RB seems similar to Canada, although he looks taller. Canada probably runs smoother but this kid is more shifty.

-Rominger had one hell of a pick. Followed a few plays later by a long TD pass by the O.

-JJ appeared to tweak a hamstring early in practice. He did not return to play but it did not seem that serious.

-Practice went until almost 11pm. Way too late for this old guy.

Any thoughts on how Counts is developing? Or the receivers?

Physically, Counts is exactly like Moore except 2-3 inches shorter. However, I have not seen him carry the ball enough to tell if he is the same type of player. It wasn't until Dan's last year and a half that he developed good field vision. This is why he got so good. And also, he learned to play physical and smart. He used to just pick someone and try to run them over. His last year and a half he started looking for gaps and although he ran over plenty of people he also went around and jumped over a few. From what little I have seen of Counts, I think he may develop into this type of player but it is too early to tell. He did catch one very nice screen pass and looked good in his yards after the catch yesterday though. Now that we are running a true fullback, that seems to have become his primary role. Something we did not see Dan in his last two years. I think the coaches will still utilize Counts other than just a true FB also.

I have yet to develop any definitive opinions on the receivers. I do know that there are a ton of them. Saylor I think will be pretty good, lacking in speed but uses his size well. Warren is quick but tiny. I am not sold on Haynes, he seems more show than anything to me. Ellis I think could be good, a Jabin type of player. Haven't seen enough of the new guys to tell anything.

I was being lazy today so I paid a transient to climb the tree that the skydiver hit and had him film practice. And not to worry you film police. The tape has already been destroyed via CIA protocol. Here is what it showed.

-JJ did not practice today. He was there but not doing much at all. Presumably due to his injury yesterday. I would not expect to see him in the scrimmage tomorrow.

-The O will be much more variable than people think. Yes there is 2 back 2 TE, but today they showed some 1 back and 1 TE. Also, it seems very diverse. Everything from power run game to triple option and roll out passes. The coaches are also calling a few trick plays every practice.

-The starting D front 7 is very good. I would be extremely surprised if there was another front 7 in the big sky that could even compare. Today was first day of pads and they really showed their stuff.

-D pass defense and O pass game both seem inconsistent and go back and forth in terms of success.

-2 picks by the d today. Tyrone holmes had one.

-Cam warren got crushed on a pass over the middle.

-The transfer safety seems like he has potential.

-Brady is getting a lot of qb reps.

Is the scrimmage open to the public tomorrow?

You know I can't say for sure. It was mentioned on the news but did not say if it was open or not. I hope it is. Would be nice to watch from the stands instead of covertly.

The scrimmage is open to the public.
