Did Oregon call off the dogs in putting up 59 on FSU? Didn't think so. Taking knees is for the kumbya crowd. Soccer moms united.....I wanted Oregon to win, but knew they would have a hard time beating Meyer. Pure genius. Not sure I have ever seen a RB better than Elliot.

Elliot is a complete back. Incredible runner.
Remember our playoff runs in the 90's. There's no mercy rule in college football. Polls reward dominating wins not classy gestures.

I always love these threads. Somebody argues in favor of showing some class, and immediately has his manhood questioned. It's the eGriz script, lol.

Quick...someone get out a notebook so we can record all the pussies in our fan base! no class no class STFU and I don't even like Ohio State.

I hate ohio state as much as any other school, but if they didn't want them to score that last touchdown, maybe they could have manned up and held them out of the end zone like the rest of the damn game.

1995 PLAYOFFS

Griz 48 EKU 10

Griz 45 Georgia So. 0

Griz 70 SFA 14..........

play for 60 minutes but I agree, whether you go for it or not says a lot about the character of the coach. Everyone knows about Meyer

This board would lite up if EWU or the Cats punched in a meaningless touchdown from the 2 yard line to run up a win when taking a knee would have ran out the clock. There is a big difference between kicking someones ass through out the game in racking up a lopsided win as opposed to scoring a meaning less touchdown with a few tics left. It was classless.

I don't have a problem with it. It's not like they did anything tricky. They lined up and ran it right through the A gap. If you don't like getting your ass kicked, learn how to tackle. In addition, Oregon called a time out with 2:25 left with the ball on the 12. To me that waved the red flag, it was only after Elliot ran it down to the 7 yard line that Oregon figured out it better let the clock run out but it was too late.

You are talking about 2 different things. I would not like it if someone ran it up on the Griz, but I would be even more pissed that the Griz didn't man up and stop it. I don't see it as a lack of class...it is a competitive sport not the Y league.

This is for you ranco

Exactly.
What if: during the last TD run, Elliot, or some other hapless player, got a career ending injury and POOF! kiss the NFL goodbye. That would be my only reservation. Oregon is known to run up the score, so.....what goes around, comes around.

I am sure part of the reason for getting another score is to possibly influence a few votes going into next season. You have to realize these coaches are smart and competitive. They will take every edge they can control. This was on Urban could control. Like it or not, when there are only 4 playoff teams selected at the end of the regular season, that score likely will help Ohio State with few votes to start next season. I am sure the likes TCU wish they had a few extra votes to build on throughout this season.

I completely understand why Meyer did this. Hate to say it, but until the playoff field expands to 8, 12, or 16 teams, we will see much more of this during the playoff and regular season games. Yes, the current system of FBS football has influenced sportsmanship and the competitive nature of FBS football. He felt his team had to make a resounding statement, and they did. Great coaching in my opinion. Do I like it? No, but sure respect and understand it.
