Look through your list again. How many impact players are there from this year's team? Outside of Schmaing, are there any others who will even make the honorable mention team this season (of course, Schmaing was all-Big Sky last year, just trying to save the hacks from correcting me)? There has never been a season in recent memory in which we will have fewer returning All-conference (1st or 2nd team) players. So your hoping they develop, right, as the basis for your prediction? There is no history to prove that they will. I see the first re-building year in many many years.

I would bet that from that list of 10 returning players at least 6 are HM or better at the end of this season (of course, Schmaing and Henderson won't be HM, but I think even YOU would agree they would be had they played, so YES, I'm counting those two).

Kidder & Holmes are the only two on defense good enough. Our LBs are highly overrated, as you will see the rest of this season when we play some quality opponents. As for Whitted and Harris, please!

Define "overrated". All three LB's are in the top 20 in the conference in tackles. Only TWO of those ahead of Gamboa (he's #20) have more sacks.

Gamboa is likely to be an NFL prospect next year, due in large part to his tremendous speeed. 10.51 in high school. Was a state champion in the 100. He'll need to keep developing, tho.

Funny thing about college football...teams lose players every year and have to replace them with younger kids. Nothing earth shattering, but teams seem to do it successfully every year.

I understand that, it's football 101. But name a year in which we did not have at least 3-4 1st or 2nd team All-Big players returning? That's my point. You have to return a strong base of solid players, and fill in other posts with younger unproven kids. Where is our base on offense? Jones, and Schmaing if he returns is it. yeah, we will return quite a few on defense, but how many of them are All-Conference caliber like in normal seasons? Maybe a couple of the D-linemen will be that good. I don't see any of the three returning LBs being that caliber. If the coaches get smart and start Schye, you will be looking at one though.

UM currently has 2 returning first or second team all-conference players on the roster now. Wagenmann (1st) and Hermansen (2d).

Honestly, that's a pretty damn good offense on paper. You've got great skill players to help the new QB along and a stable of running backs again. Also look at the o line, it would be back to the size and strength we're used to seeing. That group would average about 20-25 pounds heavier than this years O line.

Overall, again, there's key losses but a lot of core players return, including the full 2-deep of LBs and really only safety would be the spot where you may break in a player with very limited prior on-field experience.

Honestly I don't see much reason to suggest that 2015 will be a rebuilding year at all.

Schmaing was not all-Big Sky last year. He was honorable mention.

It's because you are a true troll--nothing more, nothing less. Trolls mess up message boards. They create so much chaff, that its hard to find the wheat--and some posters leave. Few boards that I'm aware of allow trolls. Even in the occasional situation that you, or another troll like you, says something that may be true, it is usually done in a troll-like manner intended to get a rouse or inflame. Egriz is currently a mess due in large part to the number of posters trolling.

Ok. Time to be 100% real. Yes, I have used name calling and personal attacks. But I have never, and will never use racial references. You really think Counts will be 4th string? Id have him as the starter. I think he's the best overall rb especially if we still have the same offense next year.

You're right, kind of quickly put in RBs. I would think that Nguyen and Counts will open as 1A and 1B but I see Favors and Logwood getting lots of reps too.
