Why can't Griz fans talk football instead of trying to be the next host of The Tonight Show? None of you will be on the comedy show circuit any time soon, so try to convince me and the rest of Griz nation that you are capable of discussing the topic presented in this thread, O.K.?

Now, I am sincerely looking at the make-up of our team next season, and to me it ain't pretty. We lose most of our best players, our QB, our two best RBs, our All-conference 4-year starter at safety, and our All-American D-lineman.

We would all hope that things would improve next season, but with what we have returning, I just don't see it. Am I wrong? Not being negative, just looking at it from a player-returning standpoint. I am willing to consider other opinions on the subject, but no one seems to be able, or willing, to engage in the topic.

Ha

You have to go to maroon blood for that kind of discussion.

:coffee:

But in my honest opinion, you'll have a more experienced OL next year and the game will slow down for them. That'll make your next QB look better than JJ.

What's the depth at DL look like? Any studs coming up?

I think people were trying to salvage your stupid thread, and maybe you should just stop posting for forever weeks. Great job.

Ironic that it takes a Cat fan to contribute. Thanks for your comments. Maybe our fan base is as lame as most opponents think it is. I know a whole bunch of Griz fans who can discuss topics like this intelligently. They don't post on this site however. You can see the kind of hacks who post here. No football insight. Just amateur comedy night and homerism.

Our D-line does return some talent. Our O-line can not help but be better than they are this year, especially if Schmaing returns. But we still have way too many holes and unproven players (like our QB) to make me feel warm and fuzzy about next season, especially if Delaney is still here.

You'll probably have to wait until fall camp and maybe even the first game to see what you have.

Decent recruiting class, lots of good receivers returning. Don't know who will be slinging the ball. We do lose a lot of talent on defense. I lot rides on who is doing the play calling. If we can scheme for the talent on the field we can be decent. Power run with small running backs expect more of the same.

Maybe this will cheer you up. The Bible says don't worry about tomorrow since today has enough trouble of it's own.

Hell, we might all be dead by then, so don't worry so much about things that you have absolutely no control over. They amount of influence any of us will have over next football season is zero. Enjoy the amazing fall weather, enjoy your family, a good meal, and a good glass of single malt scotch. Next year will be here soon enough and it will be what it will be.

As fans we root for the Griz through thick and thin. We have had a lot of thick and now we are wading through some thin. We still have it awfully good. If you don't believe it follow some of the lower 100 ranked football teams for a year or two. I think you will find this looks pretty good.

Appreciate all the good in your life, spend less energy on stuff you cannot control.

CC, you are a genius. I had a couple of red beers at Liquid Louie's and was thinking pretty much the same thing. Amazing what a good hike in the Jim Lake's Basin looking for Mr. Elk can do for a fella. Right now the larch are turning color, there is snow in the high country, and its elk season. Next year will be next year.

I guess my questions about next year were answered by the deafening silence about why we should be good next season. :|

delaney will have one more year's experience! patience grasshopper!

So you're saying his 30th year in football coaching will be the key to his transition as head coach?

On defense, we lose most of our best D-linemen, our best LBs,..

I can understand your reference to Wagenmann and Tokai, D-linemen that are seniors this year, but what 'best LBs?' are 'we los(ing).' Van Ackeren, Kose and Gamboa are juniors. What senior LBs we got?

If they are, then my bad. Thanks for your participation.

What an idiot Monte is. Not one senior linebacker on the roster. 3 junior starters. A junior, and 2 frosh behind them. Linebackers will be one of the strengths of the team next year.

Someday you should try doing some objective research on the subject of spending, debt and deficits as a percentage of GDP over the years. Just a thought.

Looking ge at how good we will be next year is almost as useless as sniffing your own fart. It gets you no where and at the end of the day you sniffed a fart

The O line should be significantly improved, which should ease some of the pain of breaking in a new QB. Regarding coaching, if you still have MD... you still have MD. If not, you'll have the extra challenge of breaking in a new staff. Lastly, sounds like your schedule is brutal next year. All that adds up to a sub par season by griz standards, similar to this year. 500 ish or barely above.
