Now, I am sincerely looking at the make-up of our team next season, and to me it ain't pretty. We lose most of our best players, our QB, our two best RBs, our All-conference 4-year starter at safety, and our All-American D-lineman.

OK, you want a serious discussion. You go first, who do we have behind the people we are losing to graduation that you have no confidence in and why? The reason you get very little serious discussion because not many of us know a whole lot about the depth in the Griz roster. Aside from a couple of positions, we don't get to see the backups play so is there reason to be optimistic or pessimistic? Who knows.

Perhaps the more relevant question is who from last year's returning players looks significantly better this year? Maybe Jones? Anyone else? Lack of progress year to year is absolutely a coaching issue but that topic has been beaten to death already. (Rinse. Repeat.)

Looking ge at how good we will be next year is almost as useless as sniffing your own fart. It gets you no where and at the end of the day you sniffed a fart

Ha!

I like that. I'm going to use that one

I can understand your reference to Wagenmann and Tokai, D-linemen that are seniors this year, but what 'best LBs?' are 'we los(ing).' Van Ackeren, Kose and Gamboa are juniors. What senior LBs we got?

What an idiot Monte is. Not one senior linebacker on the roster. 3 junior starters. A junior, and 2 frosh behind them. Linebackers will be one of the strengths of the team next year.

You feel better now, you pompous asshat!

O.K., I'll play first. In past seasons, including last season (Wags, JJ, Canada, Van, Schmaing, etc.), we had lots of great players, even first or second team all-conference players who were underclassmen, and would be returning. Great base of returning players. Outside of Jones, and POSSIBLY Hendo on offense, we have none of that type returning. Will some of the younger players step up and become great players? Perhaps, but it is a huge unknown at this point.

On defense, we lose our three best players, but return three LBs. But, how good are these three? Lots of hype early in the season playing weak opponents, but they certainly did not show much against Poly. Not sure any of the three will be an all-conference type of player. I think Schye will start next year in place of one of the LBs (probably Kose), and will be a huge stud. I don't see our D-line being as good next year as they are this year. Not sure our D-backs will be very good either. Unproven.

In summary, I see a rebuilding year instead of a re-loading year like we used to have for 20 seasons.

Now, your turn! 8-)

You guys are quite sensitive over here. A person simply makes a valid prediction and you guys all "jump on the troll... get him boys!!". I did not say one thing that was out of line, just as I've done all this season. I've said all along that you'll lose to Wyoming, NDSU, Cal Poly, EWU, and either MSU or Sac. Given your coaching staff, and what happened with your O line, it actually wasn't that hard to predict where you were going to end up. Next year, about the same. Do you really have any confidence looking at your schedule that you'll be making the playoffs next year?

If they are, then my bad. Thanks for your participation.

Can't really expect a cat fan to know our roster.

Someday you should try doing some objective research on the subject of spending, debt and deficits as a percentage of GDP over the years. Just a thought.

And you should take things a little less literal and just go with the toon!

. Our offensive line has shown me nothing, and no one can expect them to turn into a well-oiled blocking machine in a year.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect a year of experience, a year of working together as a unit, a year of maturity and another year in the weight room adding 20-25 pounds of muscle to their young frames to have ANY impact on their ability to perform as a unit next year. They'll never get ANY better.

Your propensity to feature the obvious has been duly noted. Of course, there is that little thing called talent......... but I would never want to stop you while on your roll to amuse yourself. :lame:

Hmm... MSU's OL left a lot to be desired in the last three years. This year they are kicking ass, YET it's the same guys from the last 2 years.

Oh nevermind, you're right, people can't improve. What was I thinking?

Uh, I am talking our O-line NEXT SEASON, for you with the MSU education.

Yeah, and you're crazy if you don't think they will improve their strength, size, and understanding by NEXT SEASON.

Nevermind, you're just crazy.

I've seen enough to know that all I want is a new staff next season.

Although I hope Justin Green is still on it, regardless.

I'm pretty concerned about sac state right now but next year we will be fine.
Kidder will be back as well as Holmes, Peevey, Crittendon, Harris, and the linebackers. I have a suspicion that Henderson will return with Naccarato, Schmiang, and Horner will grow a lot. We have a good stable of young backs and I'm sure we'll add a transfer or so. Luke is going to shine next year along with the other o lineman who will be seasoned from this year. I believe the kicker and punter return. The only thing we lack is leadership at the QB position. By that I mean a legitimate QB coach. You don't need all Americans. You need a team that gels. But right now sac state should be the focus. The Griz winning that one sets up a great game in cheney :thumb:
Go Griz!

If you had my IQ, rank-one, you wouldn't have to use your fingers and toes to add up yours
you really know how to hurt a guy.

The biggest problem for the griz next year won't be their offensive line.

The biggest issue will be replacing JJ and who will be the coach? Add on that the griz play 3 probable top 10 teams and it should make for an interesting year.
