I don't know why construction begins in the fall. My guess would be to minimize having two major construction areas in the same part of campus at the same time. But it may be due to the contractor's schedule. No idea. But your post was so far from reality that it deserved a WTF.

OK...lol....I didn't see the story from Nov. 14 on the BOR approval. I'm not sure that's being out of touch reality. But the other half of my statement is true, a Dec. 4 article has Haslam saying that they are STILL raising as much of the final $5 million through private donors as possible, and have not yet determined a number they will need to finance the rest, only that they are certain that revenues from football will quickly be able to pay back what they do decide to finance. So, my statement about fund raising was at least up to date as of Dec. 4 lol. Not to mention, as far as I can tell, Brint is still fundraising, or has he capped it?

Of course they're still fund raising. Any additional amount they raise they won't need to bond. But they're approved to bond whatever the difference is, so construction will begin and there won't be any stripped down versions. What we saw is what we get.

Had a conversation with a member of the Athletic Dept. Wednesday that confirmed that story almost word for word. Every dollar raised is one less that they have to borrow, and they expect to be able to repay what they DO borrow pretty quickly.
