Apparently Hauck doesn't know we don't need TE's anymore. His old school antics won't work here. Next thing he'll be bringing in FB's. SMH.

Are you serious? Not sure id this supposed to be facetious.? If it's for real, dude every NFL team uses tight ends. 24 out of the 25 top ten DI teams all use tight ends. Washington State is the only one that doesn't and it's because Leach said he can't find one good enough to play the position he would love to have even one. Lol. NDSU Uses tight ends and will, they are the gold standard of the FCS so yeah we need tight ends who are big, agile, fast and are Montana boys, who can also play hback and fullback. Go MAx go HAuck Go Griz :thumb:

Think Coach Hauck can get Trevor Hoerner back?

Not sure what you mean.

Great kid and player from Columbia Falls. Offered before his senior year in high school and is really good. Would make a great TE but supposedly prior staff wanted him on DL.

Yes I googled him his hudl stuff was impressive. All of the article I found said he signed last year with the griz. Checked this years roster didn't find him then I checked down at the land grant college and he wasn't there either. Do you know what happened to him?

I will be down for some bowl games after Christmas...your sarcastic tone is appreciated and would love to have a brew or few with you...

Thanks for the props. If your goin' to Naw'lins for the game, that's gonna be a mad house. You want some good fun, rilein' up some Bama fans about how they don't deserve to be in the playoffs and watchin' em go delusional fan on you can be entertaining. Unless you get the wrong one and they shoot you over it. Some of them are crazy!

All I know for certain is he's back in Columbia Falls. Braxton Reiten from that group of C Falls kids who lived in the weight and film room two years ago is still on the team as a preferred walk-on.

The flathead valley has and will continue to produce great players. Glacier, Flathead, Whitefish and now Columbia falls as well as Bigfork are producing great players. We are fortunate to have a wonderful youth football program that feeds all these schools. Flathead Valley Little Guy Football is an excellent program that kickstarts these kids before middle school. Gives some of these kids five years of football before they play a down in high school.

Max is actually from the Helena area. Played at Helena High his first three years and moved to Kalispell just this year.

With 4 FCS commits how was Glacier not better?

WR Mark Estes and TE Max Morris transferred from Drummond and Helena High, respectively. Then they went through a QB change (Brady Pfeifer to Evan Todd) in Game 4 against Bozeman. Todd sparked the offense but they started the year 0-4 mixed in with a canceled game because of a cyber-terrorist threat in the Kalispell area. Basically, they didn't really gel until the second half of the year and they dug themselves too deep of a hole to start the season.

Vim nice call on MAx I think last year on your board you had him at number 4 or 5....latest boards have him at 31 and 35. He was Haucks first instate recruit so that makes you a genius in my book. Watched his hudl stuff dude is huge and he holds his blocks forever a couple of pancakes lol. He also has a huge leg he kicked for Helena his junior year and kicked sporadically for glacier this year. Why not have a kicker who can boom it but also is a footballer seems it would level kickoff to 11 on 11 instead of 10 on 11. Following haucks career recently i never really gave special teams a second thought other then hoping to see a big return on punt or kick off. Never really thought about the other side where you are the kicking team trying to prevent a big return. Then I started researching what excellent special team play can do for a team. Haucks long snapper at sdsu has something like over 300 straight snaps without a miscue. I had no idea anyone cared or even kept that stat. But when you think about it any bad snap can just about sink even a better team. I have been converted I now love the gaming in special teams play.lol

I had over-ranked him with my first projection. Max has the body to be a great TE. He just needs to put it together. Did not make an all-conference or all-state team his junior season for Helena High but I still saw a ton of potential for him to have a breakout senior year. He moves to Kalispell Glacier and, after four games, moves into more of a fullback/h-back role for the Wolfpack. He received Honorable Mention All-State in AA his senior season and was 2nd-Team All-Conference in Western AA. He is a decent receiver but will need to continue to work on his blocking. If he plays TE for Hauck, blocking will be Max's #1 priority. Overall, I thought he was a PWO worthy kid but Bobby likes to get size on the line of scrimmage so I understand the partial scholarship. Max never put it all together in high school but the 6'4", 245 lb. TE will be given a great opportunity to develop in Hauck's system.

Don Read was very fond of saying that all three phases of a game (offense, defense and special teams) count the same and that a team has to win at least two of the three phases to win a game. I firmly believe that and I bet Bobby does as well. The importance of special teams cannot be understated, and Bobby is like a jedi master of special teams. I am so excited to have him back just to coach special teams, not even counting all of the other benefits of having Bobby back.

I also know that Max and his older and younger brothers were all really good soccer players growing up in Helena played on some kinda developmental squads made up of the best players in the the northwest. Just thinking having your kicker be a tight end who can boom it into the end zone, max can do that, or out of the end zone, max should be able to do that with some college level coaching and strength training. Watched glaciers intersquad game before season started saw him warming up booming kicks into the end zone and hitting field goals from 50 yds out. The soccer background helps with onside kicks and being able to control the ball like a good soccer player can and make it go where the coach wants it to go and how high or hard you need to boot it. Nothing against kickers but why not utilize a guy like max who can kick and can ball. Anyone, anyone, anyone, bueller. Discuss lol.

Yes Agree with you assessment als agree Hauck looks for big bodies and then developes them where they are best suited to play. Hope somebody thinks having your kicker or punter, was told max was a quite a punter in junior football, also a position player who can punt or kick and run fake punts. Special team play that is precise and error free like haucks special teams is pretty damn important when you are playing against elite teams where talent level is the same but a bad snap, punt or kick off can decide the game. Remember the Alabama game where auburn returned a missed long field goal that went into the end zone for a last second game winning touchdown. Alabama was the better team but lost because of poor coaching/play calling, why kick it when if they missed it auburn would have taken over possession from the previous line of scrimmage. Why not just punt it away for field position and let their offense try and beat your defense. Also wonder how often special teams practice covering a missed field goal....again why not have a baller kick and also help cover on plays like this. I was for auburn and not a big fan of Nick. Look on his face was priceless, then He bashes his special teamers for not doing their jobs. Do you think he or the special teams guy coached them up before the play like ok fellas this is a long one so make sure everybody blocks well and then make sure to run down and cover a potential return. I bet not because it rarely happens. Should have blamed who ever thought long kick was safer then a punt maybe nick did. Love the special teams.lol

Playing at HHS when he did was also tough for a pass catcher. He was on a team with a junior QB, and a very good RB (who also was the head coaches son). There just weren't a lot of passes being called. I can easily see why you had him rated high, and then changed your mind. Maybe on a different team that could pass the ball he would have shown us more of his pass catching ability. I'm thinking he has a high ceiling as a TE/athlete in college.

Apparently Hauck doesn't know we don't need TE's anymore. His old school antics won't work here. Next thing he'll be bringing in FB's. SMH.

Well I'm here to apologize to you for jumping on you like I did....egriz is powerful stuff. I'm new here but i already feel heavily invested in grizland. Probably sounds irrational but when you have the feeling well, you rant at others that don't share your zealousness. Lol again my bad not gonna let my knee and its jerk control the keyboard. Lol. All good. Often the art of sarcasm is lost without the addition of facial expression and vocal effects.
