Another fantastic get! A 6'3 295 beast who is a Scout 3 star. That's last two commits are big deals!

Loved the second play on the video, in which it seems he can't decide who exactly in the backfield has the ball, so he just tackles everyone in the backfield...at once.

Students should be seeing some private jets at MSO come fall in the future, as fellow Calabasas and Hidden Hills residents (Kardashians and Jenners) will surely want to come watch the War Daddy (Gubner) represent! They've been to Big Sky before... 8-)

You should watch the Cole Grossman OV video. In it, it shows Gubner yawning outside of the food court just before noon. For pete's sake, get that big fella some food!

Watching him shed blocks and chase down RB's and QB's from behind is a thing of beauty. He's gonna be a fun one to watch.

Get 2 CB that are freshman, 1 drop down CB and I think this class is quite solid. This team may be contending for BSC this season if everything falls into place.

Gubner totally reminds me of Gary Albright from Billings West the class of 1981. Gary had the speed, agility, strength and size 6'4" 325 of Gubner. Gary was pursued by Nebraskas Osborn to play football but, decided to wrestle for Nebraska instead. Albright was a 4 time All American and in 1985 took 2nd to Tab Thacker in the NCAA Championship. Gary was friends with many of the Nebraska football players and often brought them home to Montana for Spring and Summer breaks. The most notable was Bill Lewis who played in the NFL for 7 years with the Eagles, Patriots and Raiders. Bill was 6'7" and 300 and was from Cedar Falls Iowa, he played in the Orange bowl NC game against Miami when Nebraska came up 2 yards shot of winning the game. He married a playboy playmate. YouTube Gary Albright he was a 2 time shoot fighting champion in Japan and was quite the celebrity. Gary died in the ring during his first professional wrestling match in Pennsylvania. Gubner totally reminds me of Gary Albright.

Well that’d be something. I’ll take one at this point. Two and a transfer would be really great.

For being a potential college prospect, it is strange that opposing teams did not double team him. He beats his blocks smoothly, good spin off moves and relentless pursuit. They will need to when he progresses in his GRIZ career. Me likee.

I see a kid like this and have to ask - what's wrong with him? Why isn't he going to a bigger school?
Vision, good use of hands, athletic, etc.

I mean, OK, so he's "only" 6-3, but can a couple inches really mean that much?

Me too. I wonder why Bobby would want to come back to the FCS rather than and staying in a place like San Diego in a higher paying job. I wonder why the Washington’s sunk so much cash on the campus rather than a tax shelter that would have yeilded greater returns. I wonder what might have happened if Engstrom hadn’t been hired & Pflu & JJ we’re available the year after the semi-final playoff run. Whew...

It’s a life, and a game, of inches. And there’s no accounting for taste.

Maybe the Griz move to an odd front, and play this kid at a nose guard, Man sideline to sideline. Probably lead team in tackles or at least require double and triple team, and raise hell with Triple option teams.

Like I said earlier....I think this is the result of the new signing periods.

More 3 stars and kids like this are going to be coming to big time FCS schools after getting passed up on by the big boys first time around. Its as much psychological as anything...for example.

Say your a 3 Star recruit out of southern california....all year youve had UCLA....San Jose State....Arizona....and Colorado State showing you interest and recruiting you.

1st signing period comes and goes and you are left waiting without a scholarship from all of those schools, because they filled theirs and have nothing left to give. UCLA says sorry kid, but we'd like you to still walk on. As a 17-18 yr old kid, you probably kinda freak out a little about your future, it has after all been drastically changed in one week.

So you have the option the 2nd time around...Now I'm getting offers from Montana, NDSU, New Mexico State, Texas State....you think that kids gonna sit still and wait for MAYBE...MAYBE a scholarship to fall through and be offered from a bigger school again and perhaps have the exact same scenario happen and be left without a choice of where he wants to go???? Sorry kid only offer you have now is Texas State....or is he gonna say, "ya I'll choose one of these big time FCS schools, play early, still have a path to the nfl, and get this recruiting process over with".

At that point I'm gonna make the same decision a lot of these guys are, and take it into my own hands and go with the sure bet.

Yep. Agreed 100%. And it's why I think it will vastly improve the quality of football at our level exactly because of kids like this.

We may have some excess WRs vying for those CB depth positions.

I think one or two will but not sure which ones. I could see Flowers moving positions because he’s such a good athlete. Not sure who else could make that move smoothly maybe Eaton since he’s struggled with catching but is fast. Not sure he has the hips for it but it’d be interesting.
