New uniforms!

Those Weber helmets look like an airline logo. I forgot about those. Almost as good as the 3D shadow numbers EWU rocked until like 2013.

So when do they wear the maroon, black & copper jerseys? I assume the all white is for road games.

8.29.15 - North Dakota State (Maroon Jerseys)
9.5.15 - Cal Poly (Granite Jerseys)
9.26.15 - Northern Arizona (Copper Jerseys)

And maroon will be worn for very other home game.

But does anybody else question why we had to unveil uniforms we wore last year? (White and maroon)

I would think it's because they want to show all of the Griz jersey combos for the season.

Additionally if they just revealed the black/grey and the copper people would FREAK OUT and assume we ditched Maroon and Silver, blame Stitt, blame Engstrom, start a petition, live tweet it, point out our true colors, force an on-field sit-in, and whatever other wacky crap comes to mind.

 :thumb:

No one can ever claim Kent doesn't know his fanbase.

Nice combos. Really like the white unis and prefer some bright silver. Would also have liked the throwbacks to be accurate with yellow instead of white. They must have gotten a discount on Texas unis.

My guess is that the white helmet was picked over yellow (green bay gold) because it can also be worn with maroon or granite tops. Helmets are expensive and white can be used for more than one game.

Yep, Blue Tears is right, the white helmet was already going to be in the rotation this season, and they didn't want to spend the $ on a helmet that would only be used once, as per the 2008 year. We will see the white helmet beyond the NAU game. I also know for a fact that the Griz unis are top of the line Nike material. The Granite jersey threw me off. I was hoping to see a top that matched the silver pants, but oh well, they look sweet with the white pants too. Nice change of pace for one night.

Really cool! Love that Nike always steps up for our Griz. I like all 4 versions but especially the throwbacks to when I was in college. Funny story... My wife came home with new Reebok sneakers for my then 8-yr old son and he takes one look at them and says "They're pretty cool but you need to take them back. I''m not wearing them." "Well what is wrong with them," she asks. And he says "MOM...Reebok makes Bobcat crap. I can't wear those. Get me some Nike's." Well she looks at me and says "This is all your fault. That's just ridiculous." And I'm like "Hey the kid is right. Get him some Nike's." I was so proud of him. He's 9 now and Mom knows what to buy him. He will be sitting with me for his third GRIZ game this weekend versus NDSU.

On that note, support those that support the griz. I have heard from many sources that when the Great Falls GSA was looking for 300 dollar sponsors for the spring bbq in great falls, that Scheels in Great Falls said yes with not a second thought. Universal Athletics, on the other hand passed the buck until they finally said no. This was a couple of weeks after they spent 5 to 10 thousand dollars to sponsor the Triangle classic for the Bobcats. They could not write a 300 dollar check for a sponsorship to a fan base that spends at least as much as the Cat fans do. So when you look to buy your shirt for the granite game, go to Scheels. For that matter buy all your griz stuff at Scheels, or better yet, go to online to http://www.designtoprintmt.com/. They have supported the griz for years and are smart enough to also sell to the cats so they don't alienate half of their potential clientele. Let Universal know why you won't buy from them. If they choose to sponsor us next year, I will buy from them, but until then, I won't do it until I hear they take our business serious.

Grizatwork, I like your thinking but I believe you're basing it too much on local donations versus overall big donations. For example, Scheels is headquartered in Fargo and they have given many millions to NDSU, most recently a $5M gift for their basketball arena. I believe they also recently gave $1M to UND for their indoor facility. They have also donated large amounts to other nearby athletic programs. I am not aware of any large gifts from Scheels to UM. The $300 is great, but a drop in the bucket considering how much Griz fans support their Great Falls and Billings locations. Considering donations to other institutions, maybe they should be giving a lot more.

I still struggle to support Universal after their association with that stupid song a few years ago. I support the M Store in Missoula because they have a great Nike affiliation and they are big supporters of the GSA.

For many years, I used to get our team stuff and personal stuff at Universal Athletics. I quit. Don't support Griz, I don't support you.

Well, you should probably burn any UA that he wears. Because its not Reebok that makes our jerseys. Its Under Armor.

I think they need to "throw back" to the pumpkin puke orange jerseys. Those were awesome.

Would like to see the side of the helmet on the copper uniforms. Looks like the old grizzly mascot.
It isn't. That's what I initially thought too, but after watching the video, it is the griz script in "copper" outlined with "gold (yellow)."

That white helmet with the old colors looks amazing. I still think they will throw in maroon pants from time to time with the road whites, at least I hope, but the white ones look great too with that maroon helmet once again, and I am glad to see them keep the Griz inside Montana decal. The Granite ones look alot like the Raiders uniforms.

Makes perfect sense and I thought of that shortly after writing the post. Agree with others that the maroon pants should also be used. I am a traditionalist and miss the bright silver but all in all, very nice. I will get used to the change. :thumb:

Check out Arizona State's use of copper in its alternate uni's. Much better than the burnt orange we use.
