A new performer is turning heads on the Griz D:
Richards, out of Butte Central, and Owen, from San Bernardino, Calif., each had tip-drill picks Wednesday.
“I like Jonathan Richards a lot right now, he’s working very hard and playing very well,” Tripp said. “And he’s going to get a lot more reps now that I’m not going to be able to do contact stuff. I’m pretty excited to see how he takes this spring.”
Gregorak feels the same way.
“You look at Kanongata’a, Stuberg, Coyle, Tripp,” he began. “I’ve got high expectations for Addison, Holt and Richards. Really it’s good that some of those younger guys are getting some reps.
“We’re going to start putting in some four-linebacker packages and get them flying around.”
