+1 If the shoe was on the other foot you bastards would be tussling those little scamps hair and giving them free hotdogs.

Completely disagree, Montana fans pride themselves on being welcoming and accommodating to visiting fans. We would never do something like this, and if someone tried Griz fans would be all over them.

If you prefer passionless vanilla football, I suggest you start watching it on Sundays.

If you like it or not I don't care, but Griz fans wouldn't do that.

You can't say the UM students wouldn't pull a prank on an opposing team. Maybe it wouldn't be a parking prank because Wash-Griz has its parking lots locked down tighter than Fort Knox, but I wouldn't say UM students are above things like this. They're college kids. It's part of college life. Adult fans, probably not. Students,. I actually hope UM students still pull pranks.

It's only a funny prank until someone ends up in the hospital. Flagstaff sits at about 7,000 feet above sea level. Forcing folks, especially senior citizens and children, to walk an extra mile at that elevation is literally no different than forcing them to run across a busy freeway at rush hour. They're gambling with people's lives and that's not OK! You Griz fans heading to the game tonight are in my prayers. Take it slow and get there alive!

Sorry, but I think thats kind of funny......you gotta give them credit for giving a damn and going out of there way to annoy us. I seriously doubt they would do that for any other team so its kind of flattering really.

Dont enable them, enjoy the change in your day.
I agree. People take this crap way too seriously. Griz have been good for a damn long time. Because of that you guys got a target. Fan bases really get up for games against the griz. Little gamesmanship. Fun stuff in my opinion. Annoying maybe. But nothing to get upset about IMO...

I swear you were gonna say until someone gets their eye put out. Come on pastor. If an elderly couple is so handicapped, I am sure they would be able to find a handicapped spot somewhere in the lot that is not in the Griz section. Wait a minute - dammit you trolled me. Unbelievable rookie move on my part. Ha ha

Or new high?!?!
Although I can't say I didn't enjoy traveling your grand State through the Wild Rockies Field Institute, a UM non-profit. You got something special up there.

"We all want what Nebraska has. We all want what North Dakota State has, what Montana has, what Appalachian State had.", John Stiegelmeier (South D St.)

But as a Jacks alum victory is sweet, hang 70 will you.

College kids doing what college kids do...being smart asses. Was this gamesmanship...yes. Was it ill willed...no. The distance added on to the walk from the new tailgating spot (across the street) versus the old tailgating spot in the big lot is an additional 2-3 minutes at best.

This shows me that Lumberjacks administration and fans are actually starting to give enough of a damn about football to engage in some scheme-hatchery. That's what Griz fans have been wanting from the rest of the Big Sky Conference for years, right?

As usual, I had a blast chatting with Griz fans this weekend. You guys travel well and are knowledgeable. I brought along a friend who hasn't been to a game since the late 90s. He commented how fun it was talking to UM fans and that the desire to gloat after NAU got a big win just isn't there with your fans.

Was just driving by P64 lot where GRIZ tailgate party is today. The large parking lot adjacent to it was empty yesterday. Today it is packed. Last night the NAU students shuttled all there cars to fill the parking lot so GRIZ fans could not park there..... Now, GRIZ fans have to park a mile away & be Shuttled to the tailgate area or walk( pretty good distance). I asked a student why they did that, & he told me it was to make things a little more difficult. I find this kind of juvenile jesture immature on the part of NAU. I hope the GRIZ pound the H**l out of them tonight......!
Lots of GRIZ kids at the tailgate that would have liked access to a porta potty...Cheap f...s. Others situations...but it's time to move on..NAU went out of their way to be $$shole$. I wouldn't give them a used hotdog. :egriz:

This is absolutely hilarious!! I could care less that it was NAU or care who it happened to, this prank would be great against any opposing team! It was clean, clever fun! Home teams are supposed to have a "Home Field Advantage" not be welcomed with open arms...c'mon people. Just because you've been parking somewhere for however long, doesn't make you entitled! My God this liberal society just keeps takings its toll...

2010, we don't have the same spot -- NAU moves us around every visit.

A number of years ago, in a bar in Flagstaff the night before the game, an NAU fan complimented Montana on its fan base, and he very much wished NAU could develop that. This year, NAU filled the stands for the first time since 1994, although they were nearly empty by the fourth quarter. It was good to see the spirit.

I had a great time at the NAU tailgate this year. And yes, I carried my cooler (15 beers? plus ice) a mile from my hotel room, down a "cliff" then uphill to the designated parking lot. I'm an old fart but keep in good shape, and I loved walking through the pine forest. There were some older Montana folks that had a rough time of it just walking up the hill from where they could park.

My biggest concern was where to stash the cooler for halftime. A friend was there who is recovering from hip surgery and she was in handicapped parking just outside the dome. Great score!

NAU has not done well with tailgating for Griz fans. Lot 64 is huge, but whatayaknow, they stuck the Family Weekend event in the major part of the lot, right next to the Griz area. The tradition continues. No portapotties in sight, and that I have to say is stupid wrong and a little rude.

Never got a chance to chat with the main NAU fans since they were so far away. At halftime, we did have a couple NAU fans ask us if they could buy some beer (their hidden stash got taken). We gave them free beer.

I agree yet it was not always like that.
Back in the 1980's & 1990's far too many UM fans were being dicks to visitors.
I am proud of how that has changed to what it is today. Keep it classy Griz!

Inconvenience? Please tell that to the handicapped couple who drove all the way from Montana to see their nephew play & were told they could park there & now they Can't? Payback can be twofold......!
There was handicapped parking right next to the stadium; display your placard to the traffic cops and they you direct right to it. Parking was easier than for Griz home games.

I attended the NAU game. However, I did not get to see anything beyond the 30 yard line on the south end...and there were plenty of people in the same predicament. The boxes were built right smack dab in the middle of the stands. My seats were on the 40-45 yard line, but a huge wall was all the way to the ceiling. Anyone assigned seats in section 210 above the 25th row and within 8 seats of that wall could not see the far end of the field at all. The little bitty screen did not really help that much.

Just a word of warning for those who might attend in the future ...don't agree to a seat number 10-17 and above the 25th row. What a rip off. Its a good thing part of our plan was to visit relatives, cuz the game was lousy and I couldn't even see a lot of it. The seats we had should have been free!

We did not have a problem getting to the stadium. We stayed in the Drury Inn and a shuttle picked us up and brought us back afterwards. No complaints there.
