He’s saying the right things and clearly took the feedback from the UM community to heart. I am excited to see him change our public facing side and messaging. We know there’s room to grow, and he acknowledges it and seems to have a plan and an eye on key pieces that will make it happen. Love the new energy we have in various areas of the university.

Sat down over a few beers with the new president of the University last night - he's on the pod for the first 1:08 or so. The 2nd half of the pod covers our thoughts on BK's extension and off season success so far.

Spotify is taking forever to upload, hopefully that arrives soon, links to spotify / web / apple here!

Thoroughly enjoyable! Pleased to hear his enthusiasm for the university's future.
I'm also more hopeful of the Griz' football success.
Bravo Mike and Brint for sharing your coaching experiences with your children's teams. Proud moments, no doubt!

I will have to listen to this podcast, I'm excited about what the the President will Bring to the University.
I'm looking forward to meeting him in November.

Overall in-person impression of him (to me) is that he seems down to earth, approachable, and very much open for all discussions. We chatted before and after recording, talked about my middle daughter who is going into her sophomore year at the UM. Royce Engstrom struck me as a "stuffy academic" and Seth Bodnar the "guarded politician". Dr Shinn comes across as very authentic, I think he's going to fit in really well here.

One thing I liked about the interview was that he said "Athletics is the front porch to the university" and I couldn't agree more. He mentioned how for many students across the country, they make their decision to attend a university for athletics first, and then choose a major later. That's 100% how my experience was lol.

I remember in 2006 as a senior in high school, I was attending a high school basketball game and playing in the pep band the same night Montana was playing UMASS in Missoula in the semis. And Everytime we took a break from playing, I'd run back to the band room and watch part of the game and was just awestruck at the noise and the chaotic environment. Mind you I had never attended a Griz game at this point of my life. And it was that night when I was like "Yeah... I'm attending the University of Montana next fall" haha.

Now, if we could just get 3 to 5% improvement out of the GFP every time. j/k Brint, Kyle, Mike, Luke, and ......... James. Thanks for the content and great work.

Will having Brent Pease on the GFP break the Natty drought? Are you prepared for Brent's dry wit?

Question for the next pod - Which "Brent/Brint" name is superior to the other? As the saying goes, "i before e", or is that ignored in this case?
