New commit 2020 Kirk Rygol QB transfer

I shouldn’t have gone that hard in this thread. I just get annoyed when people think walk-ons from bigger schools will be huge contributors. I hope I’m wrong, but I just don’t see it.

I don't get the impression that the coaching staff is anointing anyone as the starting quarterback, but they must see something in this kid to give him a full ride...and I doubt they give a shit what any of us on eGriz.com think about it. He's going to succeed or fail on his abilities...I'm rooting for all 5 of them to succeed. What do you see that the coaching staff missed? Not trying to be an asshole, just curious.

Don't back down WaGriz. It's Ok if the ruling-class doesn't agree with you. I 100% agree with this and your previous posts. I see very-little reason to get too excited about him as he's really never proved anything impressive in 6 years. Everyone looks good in their Highlight Tape and I don't care how good he was as a soph in hs. He was a 3rd stringer at a JC.

That being said, we have nothing-to-lose by bringing him in and adding depth and competition, and I'll keep an open mind when I actually see him play, but I agree that he has a LOT to prove before I get excited about him

He started the 2nd half as 1 and 2 got hurt. Started out rough, but got better.

He was a walk-on at Non-Power 5 USF. That is not the same caliber of transfer as a Craig Ochs, JD Quinn, Eric Allen etc...

And Russum, Horn and Drew Miller. I do think the kid looks talented, tho. If you assume he improved along the way, his story makes sense. Not sure why his great numbers in high school would only get him to D-II. What did he do there? Has anyone seen his senior year interceptions?
He didn't have prototypical QB size.

The coaches didn't just extend a full ride to a Junior if they didn't expect that player to compete. Boom.

One thing is certain, we are loaded at QB. What a great feeling!

(Shoot, I know I am going to have sweet Griz dreams tonight...the team is looking formidable)
