I think a loss is likely just because I am not sold that the Griz can win a road game against a solid opponent. It has nothing to do with the PSU shitshow.

A 20 point win at CPSLO wasn't exactly "unsolid." They just kicked the crap out of SacSt in Sac.

Yep, Poly is not a very good team. A road win is a good win, but I don't see it as beating a solid team.

Who would we have to beat before you would say it is a good win? Bama? NDSU?

Lucky for them, UND looks to be the only solid Big Sky team they play on the road. So UND would be a solid road win.

I find it ironic that just as surely as we all assumed PSU would be a sure win, many are now assuming a bounce back win at ND.

why? it's a FAN board. i'm usually more suprised by people that pick "their" team to lose like they win a prize or something for being right.

we're homers. we should believe that our teams should be able to beat nearly anyone if we play a clean game. doesn't mean they always will...but who cares?

do you really not believe that the griz are capable of winning this game?

I agree. UM beat CP on the road, and then CP beat SS, which Hauck said was the best team UM had played this year. As already pointed out.

As the sting of the PSU loss fades I can reflect on a handful of other ugly games I've seen in Wa Griz. 2016 vs the cats, 2015 vs Weber and vs Cal Poly, hell all of 2012 (losses at home to MSU, SUU, and NAU), 2005 to CPSLO and EWU, 2003 vs NDSU, 2000 vs Hofstra.

It was a real ugly loss no doubt. Hopefully this can spark some rapid improvement in these guys.

Of course I think the Griz are "capable"of winning all the games left on the schedule. But I don't believe that a poor performance in one game automatically leads to gritting their teeth and cruising in the next game. Maybe PSU is not as bad and UM not as good as everyone assumed/hoped. Expecting the return to swagger and conference championships in Hauck's first year was irrational exuberance at best. Many of the frequent posters know this and predicted a 7-4 season. Have some patience. The cosmos does not owe Griz fans vicarious ego massaging.
