NDSU top 25 FBS caliber

I think NDSU, App State and even UM is what the NCAA had in mind when they created the division, that is a place for mid majors to go and a chance to be a big player on a smaller stage.

Would Fargo ever become another Boise? They could, but I say the odds are against it.

I was messing around with the Versus app after I read this and couldn't find a team in the MWC that they'd lose to (statistically) except Boise State and that was only because of home field advantage (3pts). Statistically they would beat Tennessee
NDSU will 3 peat this year without a doubt. The KSU game was probably a huge motivator.

Very good article. I especially liked this line:

"There are five such schools transitioning to FBS this season according to the NCAA -- Old Dominion, Georgia Southern, Texas-San Antonio, App State and Georgia State. Any similarity between those programs and Alabama is in label only.

Those schools' presidents know they are in for a money-losing venture. But having "FBS" slapped on your football program brands you as a big time.

"Bingo," Viverito said.

North Dakota State has no such aspirations, being that it is big time in its corner of the world. Taylor's athletic budget ($17 million) is one-fourth that of Kansas State's ($68 million). The Bison play in the city-owned Fargo Dome before rabid crowds who will camp out overnight for tickets."

I can't wait to start our home and home with them next year. And it'll be even bigger if the ESPN deal happens too.

He is confused the Sioux Hockey fans use to camp out for hockey tickets, probably not anymore the way tickets are distributed. Never heard of anyone camping out for Bison tickets and I live in Fargo.

Awesome I can remember being outside all night 83-87 at UND for regular season games against the gophers and badgers. A lot of schnapps and friends bringing dominos pizza. Man was it cold. Any other games you just stood in line that night, usually after buck pitchers at the Spud in east grand forks-drinking age was19
