Montana doesn't have one player on the roster that would start at NDSU the only 2 or 3 that would even make that team are O'Connell, Bergen and maybe Ford.

We all know what they've got on offense at UNDSU. Not sure there's any point in getting all caught up in whether or not they can be stopped. For the sake of argument, let's assume they don't show up flat. Like against the four of the last six teams they played. I have no illusions that Hauck/Baer will change up anything to give them a better opportunity against this kind of offense.

They definitely grind. How many points a game are they averaging? I think the way to beat them is get that offense on the field, try and get a lead and lean on them with the defense and make them play from behind. We will see if they will come up with a game plan to do it. We can’t shoot ourselves in the foot with mistakes which has been a consistent theme this year. Hopefully they can play loose. If they come out tight like against MSU it could get ugly. Guess we will see.

Much like Bobby surprised all with an option team in the playoffs years and years ago, they are going to do that defensively and come out in a 4-3. Then mix in 3-3-5 on passing downs.

Could also be effective on offense: I’m not a coach and didn’t play the game at a high level, however, this humble fan has a thought that might be effective: try the Jack Swarthout Texas Wishbone for a series or two. It could result in some big gains.

Their run defense was one of the tops in all of FCS and their total defense was among the best as well, so hard to claim it doesn’t work. However it’s a bad matchup against some run teams…,especially run teams with a running QB…,which is the Bison and their DNA.

Weber’s RB’s ran for 210 yards on 41 carries (5.1 ypc).

Sac State their RB and running QB combined for 167 yards on 26 carries (6.4 ypc).

SEMO’s RB’s ran for 139 on 33 carries (4.2 ypc).

I don’t want to look at what MSU’s RB’s did, but figure 8 ypc (gross).

I would argue against good teams the run defense is solid, but nothing more. Beat up on a lot of shitty teams, and for college they factor in sacks as negative rushing yards, and this defense gets a lot of sacks. Doesn’t make sense to have sacks impact rushing stats imo.

MSU rushed for 6.8 ypc on 62 attempts against Griz. Ouch. UM cannot run the damn ball, & NDSU is stout against the run. NDSU will pin their ears back & we’ll see the exploding cauliflower from their nostrils just before they eat your qb’s & spit out bear bones. So the scats had one good game against their rivals, and they're fucking world-beaters now. You guys barely beat NAU, EWU, and needed dropped passes and four bad snaps that led to 8 points to win AT HOME by 5 points. GTFO with this shit.

if you actually pay attention to anyone outside of the scats, you'd see NDSU is having their worst defensive year in forever. Susceptible against the run giving up almost 150 yds (I can't remember the last time they gave up that much), and their d-backs aren't great, especially after a starter entered the portal. People who know the program at NDSU think this is the year they could be upset early in the playoffs....but by all means, continue using your one good game you played this year to demoralize the Griz, going forward that arrogance should play out well against Weber or your next opponent going forward if you win.
