NCAA Playoffs

#11 seed northern Iowa with a 9 point lead on #3 seed Texas A&M ... 3:34 to go in the game. That would be a cool upset.

They are 1 of my 2 sleeper picks to get to the Sweet 16. My other one was Arkansas Little Rock, to bad they lost out.

And they just pissed away an 11 point lead in the last 30 sec. Going into OT now. Panthers were totally inept on the in-bound play -- repeatedly -- so I would guess A&M will keep that pressure up. If they do, the OT could get really ugly for Northern Iowa.

WOW, what a comeback by Texas A & M!!! I jinxed NIU
Not really. the Panthers pretty much did it to themselves. Multiple incredibly stupid plays to give the Aggies the ball two or three steps from the basket for an almost instant score.

They will have to gather themselves to be competitive in OT ... and so far they have.

Nice job by the Weebs. They should have been a 13/14 imo. They are better than several teams I have seen so far including Wisconsin who Xavier faces now.

Nailed it......

We've gone all day with no buzzer-beaters and now we've had a bunch. Another OT for the Northern Iowa game because of buzzer-beaters.

Plus, Wisconsin knocked off #2 seed Xavier with a buzzer beater. A lot of people had Xavier going to the final four (and maybe the championship), so that's going to screw another bunch of brackets. (And cost a lot of people money. :( )

EXCUSE me......UNI. Same damn team and same damn university.

I made a mistake and was not thinking you damn smart ass. Those watching sure in the hell know who I was talking about. You are a world class ass.

If you want to call me an ass because you feel dumb......I am OK with that......but let us just all be friends....friends that all cheer for the MU Grizzlies......

Oregon having a lot of trouble with St. Joseph's. St. Joe's is another of those teams -- like Gonzaga, maybe -- that seems to have peaked at just the right time. They started in their conference tournament as the #4 seed and, while they did not blow anyone out, they did win their way into the auto-bid. Then, as a #8 NCAA seed, they squeezed by Cincinnati. So they're "playing on house money" at this point -- the pressure is all on Oregon. Not going to be shocked to see an "upset."

Oregon playing very undisciplined in the 2nd half with a lot of forced shots. St Joseph's not up 58-51. Make that 58-54, Brooks converting an and 1. Go Ducks.

Oregon closes out the game strong and gets the W. Way to go Ducks.

Ducks hung on to win -- played the endgame very well. Pretty ugly performance, IMO, but give Oregon credit, they played well at crunch time.

Almost feel bad for UNI, being the biggest choker in the history of the tournament. How do you lose with a 10 point lead with under 30 seconds?

"Almost" is the key word -- hard to work up a lot of sympathy for Northern Iowa when it was largely self-inflicted.

A&M pressure on the in-bounds pass was neither creative nor especially intense. What was creative was all the ways NI found to basically hand the ball to the Aggies right around the basket. As I recall, at least one of A&M's scores took less than a second off the clock.

After that debacle, I was actually surprised the Panthers didn't get blown out in the first OT. So I guess you have to give them some credit for (somewhat) recovering.

I think they took a page out of the New York Knicks playbook.
