NAU

I liked the pace of this game tonight. Most of the shots were taken within the first 15 seconds of the shot clock. The GRiZ we’re moving the ball around and getting some open looks. 21 assists wasn’t bad!
Now, if we can play like this, this coming weekend, we could get a sweep.
GO GRIZ!!

Yeah we were shooting lights out but mostly because they were all wide-open, except for Moody, who did make a cpl with a guy in his face. NAU is bad!!! real bad.

Have we shown we can compete when the 3s are not falling? Live by the sword...

I think we can. That's why our defense has to get back to par.
Offensively Money (when he returns), Whitney are good at driving and creating fouls. Thomas scores well inside. Sawyer is tough to stop inside. Oke is great at keeping possessions alive. Moody can score and create without the 3, if needed.

Honestly, it cones down to better defense.

I don't disagree. I'm asking has this year's team shown they can do it?

They've shown they're capable of it.
Unfortunately, they have to do it more than 50/50.
I see and understand occasional let downs. However, the let downs are much to frequent so far. They need to find consistency.

8 conference games left, and we need to close out this season like we did last year. Hopefully we get 6-7 wins down the stretch and that starts tonight. The NAU/NCU roadtrip is logistically difficult and we will have to be laser focused to get the road sweep. NAU has lost 3 in a row but they have been competitive games. I still think they are extremely undermanned in the front court and think exploiting that is our easiest path to victory. Hopefully we stay healthy and have fresh legs going into Greeley. Go Griz!

NAU is a completely different animal on their home floor. 7,500 ft elevation doesn't help visiting teams who normally play much lower down. Also, they play in their football dome and that gives a different perspective for shooters. The Lumber Jacks have a little more bounce in their step at home.

Yes, they are under manned in the post due to injuries to their best two post players. However, they are not without some size to compete in the post, as long as they stay out of foul trouble. Their guards are quick enough, skilled enough and good enough outside shooters to hang with anyone in the BSC. Also, they don't seem to be getting blown out by anyone, just like last year.

UM will have to play well to win down there. Good luck. :thumb:

Wow! Griz shooting out of their minds ... twos, treys, and foul shots. NAU not doing that bad, but not even close. Griz also hitting the boards well.

FYI: Kitties lost (a close one) to NoColo.

I am in Phoenix and thought about going to the game. Guess I didn’t wanna fight the snow and the traffic. So, ended up watching the game on my phone.
Griz played one heck of a game. Hope they can keep that intensity up for the next one on Saturday. Going to be a big game against Northern Colorado. It’ll be a fantastic win if we get it.
GO GRIZ ‼️

Nice drive, without the snow. I made the trip in the spring. On the way, there are elevation signs, 1,000 ft, 2,000 ft...all the way to Flagstaff at 7,000 ft. Change from desert vegetation to Ponderosa Pines, all within 125 miles. :thumb:
OMG! It's been 20 years! ;)

Well, I guess you spoke that into existence.

That was a great game. I was waiting for the late game collapse where the Griz go cold and the opponent scorches them to get back in it, but that never happened. Credit where it's due...the Griz put their foot on NAU's throat and never let up. That was great to watch!
