No such thing as a good loss. There have been plenty of posts about inability to adjust at half in a positive way. Not the case last week. Still a loss. Griz did not roll over and quit. They lost, however the season is not over. How they continue with better play in the second half might have positive foundation to build on going forward.
I get a kick out of all of the hope and prayer that the second half of the Weber game somehow is an indicator of how we will perform the rest of the season. Makes it easy to look good when your opponent is up by 28 at halftime and taking the air out of the ball on offense to avoid turnovers, just like most teams do when they have a 28-point lead at halftime. Was that 34 points that Weber laid on us in the first half just a mirage? I could have sworn that it really happened!
First, Weber didn't take the air out of the ball in the 2d half. The play by play shows that.
Second, had UM not had the better second half by the O and great second half by the D, almost no one would be giving the Griz any chance of winning 2 or 3 games the rest of the season. Despite the horrible first half, and all the negatives and weak play, I also saw many positives that give reasonable hope that the team can rally for some wins. If Jensen is out, the task will get tougher, but the fight and heart of this team is very strong. They didn't give up against Weber, they have had good effort all season, and I think they will go into the NAU game expecting to win.
Third, if I have the choice between a talented team without enough heart versus a less talented team with huge heart, and one that will never give up, I will take the team with heart every time.
Fourth, why don't you try rooting for the Griz, and supporting them, this week, instead of just spewing the same negative crap over and over again. Or, do you so desperately want to be proven right, that you are rooting against the Griz?
Fifth, JD Quinn told me he has no clue who you are.
