Formerly, WMC, did it a few years ago in the NAIA playoffs.
WMC, huh. Now there's a fooball legacy for ya to hang your hat on. Since 1963 when the first NAIA Playoffs for a Championship were inaugurated it took WMC until 1994 to even bother themselves to being involved. Since then a combined 62 - 111 record, inclusive. Not exactly a program I'd base offensive strategies on; nothing personal, I liked Tommy Lee as a person and as a coach, but he couldn't do everything. But that's what it's worth; some good years some bad years, it happens to everyone every now and then.
So WMC did it a few years ago in the NAIA Playoffs, huh. O.K. What does history say for itself being that there's only one game noticed wherein WMC ever won in the NAIA Playoff Format: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/naia/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/FB_ChampionshipRecords.pdf
Was that supposedly 1994 when WMC defeated Glenville St 48 - 38? When you're ten points ahead after the other team scores it's not much more than garbage time. Not much to brag about there. Maybe it's when WMC was defeated 53 - 60 in overtime by Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Not a winning strategy there either, especially when you lose the game anyways.
Could it have been 1995? Nay, couldn't have been that year either. WMC got beat 21 - 49 to Central St of Ohio. Not unless WMC let Central St. score so it's players wouldn't get hurt trying to tackle the ball carrier. Could possibly be.
Perhaps 2002 when WMC got defeated 12 - 30 by South Oregon. Huh, doesn't sound convincing here either.
Well, other than those years mentioned above there isn't any evidence of any other participation by WMC in any Playoffs, NAIA included. So where's this big game strategy cited that allowed WMC to win in the NAIA Playoffs anyways? Just wondering if you got anything backing you up here 'schield.' 'Cause I just can't find it anywhere's. Care to enlighten me?
Of course, I may be overlooking something here. 'schield' never did say conclusively that WMC actually won any game by letting the other team score, now did he? Didn't think so.
