I have not read all the posts, but it always seemed to me that Smithwick-Hann was running the Griz O better and the Hawaii kid was a better prospect because of his age. If I was going to be third string I would look elsewhere also, and lets face it if his name was Jones... we would not even be talking about him.

No apologies required. I sometimes forget we have some pretty damn young people on this board who really don't have any idea of football history. I remember with 6-5 with Don Read was reason to celebrate. If he were the coach now and had a 6-5 record, they would run him out of town.
