He's probably just making roster room for that Nick Montana transfer some egrizzers were sure was going to happen.

Have your fun with this, but I assure you that Nick was set-up to transfer here. But kids are hard-headed and change their minds. Dad had little influence on him. He should have transferred here two years ago when he lost the starting job to Price in spring ball, but he was too stubborn to face reality. I assure you that when I made those posts about him coming here, it was about an 80% done deal. Pflu would have NEVER agreed to take Nate if he didn't think he would also get Nick.

Oh please. Montana was never on Nicks radar, nor was he on Pflu's. JJ was the guy Pflu wanted from HS and it was going to JJ's gig for the next couple of seasons. You're a wack job.

You know quite a bit about wacking, especially your member.

Late KPAX news does confirm that Nate is going to Division II Virginia Wesleyan. I wish him well and hope he does have a goal in mind. I wonder if this may be where Nick winds up as well after his JC stint.

Growlie, as usual your timeline is a little off which makes things you said about the younger Montana all that more suspiscious. Two spring balls ago would have been the spring BEFORE Jake Locker's senior season at Washington, and hence Montana didn't lose anything to Price that spring. However, he DID lose the job to Price in the spring of 2011. And if you for one second think Pflu would have started the younger Montana over JJS you are simply more insane than I thought.

Yeah, i'm insane. You should be so insane, and then you could pay off your credit card debt.

Probably saw the writing on the wall with McKinney

A senior seeing the writing on the wall by the play of a redshirt freshman? Not so sure...
Why not? Least fit qb for our offense, already relegated to backup status. Seeing McKinney get mop-up time over him would be a little hard to stomach. Hell, Kempf (sp) lost his job as a Sr. To a redshirt frosh.

Sent from my phone so no apologies for typos

good luck nate, hope you get that playing time you are looking for. thanks for giving us a try  :thumb:

leaving for more playing time, eh Nate? Apparently the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the name on the back of the jersey...err...the back is more important than the front...err...I think it has to be your bull.

Shut up, Richard.

I have not read all the posts, but it always seemed to me that Smithwick-Hann was running the Griz O better and the Hawaii kid was a better prospect because of his age. If I was going to be third string I would look elsewhere also, and lets face it if his name was Jones... we would not even be talking about him.

Good luck to Montana...

Unless it was Bert Jone's kid...

What the hell? If I am 20-21 years old, have football in my blood, and realize I probably wouldn't see much action on my present team I'd probably transfer too. It would be different if I was a Soph. but a Senior only has one more chance to play. Good luck Nate, have some fun. Thanks for being a Griz. :thumb:

I can understand Montana leaving. He was only in Missoula one year, so probably doesn't have major ties to keep him here for his senior year. Montana was still the situational second team qb, in that, depending on the situation, he was the second-teamer. That means that if the coaches wanted more of a passer to replace JJ, it would be Montana. If the coaches wanted more of a runner and someone to run the spread offense, then it would be McKinney.

From his history of transferring I don't think he has major ties anywhere.......

I must have been showing my age there. I had resigned myself to the fact that no one was going to get that joke.
