Well he just got recruited by Stitt and his staff....and there is a starter on the team that is 5-9....so what makes you say he won't get a shot?

I think BillingsMafia meant that he doesn't believe Stitt will give Nathan Dick a shot at QB because of his size; that at other position(s) he will be given shot(s).

BillingsMafia, what say U?
My concern is both a fair shot at QB and a fair shot at inside receiver. JLM is a freak, no way even Stitt can keep him off the field. Bottom line is I question Stitts football instincts.
I don't 100% agree with this - if you remember 2015 Stitt used Nacaratto all the time while Roberts subbed in. Finally Stitt figured out Roberts could catch the ball and Nacaratto couldn't and switched personnel around do Roberts for more plays and Naccarato less as the season went on. Shows me Stitt will play the best player regardless of size (I get the logic problem with Roberts being a taller player and Nacaratto short, but the issue isn't about size but rather about recognizing best talent and how long it takes to make a change). If Dick performs Stitt will play him.

I agree, if Dick can produce, he will see action period.

I don't think JLM is Dicks' biggest problem though, as JLM is 2 years a head of Dick. Dicks' bigger problem will be Dareon Nash, who is only 1 year ahead of Dick, and is very talented as well. Gotta love the competition, Stitt is improving the Z with these three players.

I will respond to this question because no one has done so adequately. Gabe has been starting at wr for BSHS since his freshman yr. I've watched him play around 20 games both regular season and playoffs combined. As you might expect from a coaches kid he was polished in his skills from day one. I'm guessing he's 5'10' or 11 and maybe 170 lbs. He purportedly runs a 4.5 and he looks faster and or quicker. I could f'n care less what he runs a 100 in. Sorry intuitive. He catches everything with his "hands". Everything. He runs precise routes and has fantastic ball skills, while demonstrating the ability to make every type of catch you can imagine with great fluidity. When he gets the ball in his hands he has great instincts on where he is on the field and the relationship to the boundary. I have no idea how many td's he has scored but it is a truck load. As this years season wore on he received more press coverage with a man over the top. Obviously, from a team point of view the offense moved to the easy pickings late in the season and the playoffs. Pick your poison with N. Dick at qb. They compensated the touches with runs out of the back field, jet sweeps and added bubble screens. I thought Senior did a sh!tty job of adding motion. He'll be a terrific FCS player or higher. I feel his best asset is his ability to move his hips and cut WITHOUT slowing down. I also feel he needs to vastly improve his strength. It will be interesting to see what he can do in 2017 without the great supporting cast... :egriz:

But you didn't mention his HIPS. It's all about the HIPS.

Shakira agrees, hips don't lie.

If you liked the receivers during the Don Read era, you will love Sulser. I have watched high school football for a long time in Montana. He is as dynamic as they come, despite his size. The only other receiver I remember being as big of a factor, with our without the ball, was Matt Miller. But Miller was a completely different type of receiver. He is also a coach's kid.

Great analysis, rimrockgriz.

And no offense taken on the 100 comment, seriously. But I (and coach Stitt) have to disagree with you on not caring about speed over 40 yards. You don't care if he can put the deep ball in the end zone or return a kickoff to the house, gotcha; as that is what a superior 100 explosive time will undoubtedly prove.

Would love to land Sulser, he's a difference maker/special/hungry. Class AA 110 meter Hurdle Champion as a Soph, that shows tremendous athleticism and break-a-way speed. No one in FCS will lay a finger on him.

Gabe Sulser self reports to hudl:

Jersey #: 7
Positions: WR, CB
Height & Weight: 5'9" 160lbs
Nike Football Rating: 0
40 Yard Dash: 4.57
Class of: 2018

Never saw Nate play in person just highlights.....can anyone tell me why he can't play QB at UM? All I hear is height......but not all QB's are tall Dave D for just one example. If he was 6'3" with his stats he would seem to be a QB recruit, or sure he shouldn't be seriously looked at.

Dick...Dickenson...two QBS under 6'! Coincidence...?
I like this. Give the kid a shot.

Hope to see this happen Mafia! Kid's not the Gatorade POTY for no reason! You're gonna get lots of skepticism on this sight for saying it, but these are the same bastards that would bare Dave Dickenson's children if they had a chance, and he was 5'9" in heals. Go Nate Dick!

My first thought was Desin.

Two words - JJ. Not trying to start anything, but watch the vid closely.

I just don't see him as a FCS level QB, so he is more Desin or Samson as opposed to JJ IMO.

Just an observation of playing style. Am hopeful, and with all due... that he isn't the next coming of Desin.
You should hope he's as good as Mark Desin. That kid wasa great athlete, very underutilized and underrated. He was totally effed over by the cats. Thrown to the wolves in multiple positions and not allowed to develop. He would have been a fine bsc qb given the opportunity to develop as a qb.

I disagree about Desin making a fine BSC QB. I do believe that Desin was a FCS level player, and agree that the Cats completely screwed up how they used him.
