Nate Dick

Bored at work, thought I'd watch his film, just to see what the Cats may have missed out on.

First thing that came to mind as a Cat fan was actually Mitch Griebel. He was 5'11 195 and was a great slot receiver for us, but he just didn't have that break away speed. He had good cuts, could get open and had good hands - sort of like a poor man's Edelman. I see some of that here too, if he gets moved to WR.

I believe this to be a fair assessment .....with nate being a former qb, this maybe invaluable in the slot, if he reads the defenses and runs his routes to get open the same way the qb is reading the defense......he is athletic and tough runner after he gets those shorts hitches .......

Had to watch too

He's a baller

Looks like an FCS inside receiver to me

As QB, he looks a lot like Paul Petrino to me. And I think Paul could've played QB for either UM or MSU

RB. :twocents:
That would be interesting. I see a Z WR and return specialist honestly. Could work out at CB as well, he's got the athleticism for sure.....I'll bet they try him out at a bunch of spots and see what sticks.

I'll take a team of kids that have his work ethic, desire, and heart all day long. One thing you'll know for sure, he'll give it his all. I've seen kids like him turn into star players because of their drive and heart.

I don't think Stitt will give this kid a shot because of his size. Seems like he wants a team of big players. Maybe his size is a factor. I want players that can run catch tackle and throw, 6-4 232 or 5-10 170, if they can play give them a shot.

Haha, that's why the best player on STITT'S team is 5-9, 168. Yeah he never gives those types a shot.

Well he just got recruited by Stitt and his staff....and there is a starter on the team that is 5-9....so what makes you say he won't get a shot?

Haha and that's just what the program says. Guessing JLM is 5'8 and 160 on a good day. Has a heart the size of a lion though and blazing moves so it's all good.

I think BillingsMafia meant that he doesn't believe Stitt will give Nathan Dick a shot at QB because of his size; that at other position(s) he will be given shot(s).

BillingsMafia, what say U?

Ahh that would make more sense...I'm excited for Nate, wherever he plays. Clearly he's a hell of an athlete and has a lot of love for the game from the sounds of it.

Dick...Dickenson...two QBS under 6'! Coincidence...?

Goes to prove you can get a lot done with a short Dick. It might be more difficult to go deep, but you can still score a lot and score fast.

:agree: Nathan Dick is very skilled (a great feel for the game), just lacks top-end speed. Should be a good Griz.

My concern is both a fair shot at QB and a fair shot at inside receiver. JLM is a freak, no way even Stitt can keep him off the field. Bottom line is I question Stitts football instincts.

I don't 100% agree with this - if you remember 2015 Stitt used Nacaratto all the time while Roberts subbed in. Finally Stitt figured out Roberts could catch the ball and Nacaratto couldn't and switched personnel around do Roberts for more plays and Naccarato less as the season went on. Shows me Stitt will play the best player regardless of size (I get the logic problem with Roberts being a taller player and Nacaratto short, but the issue isn't about size but rather about recognizing best talent and how long it takes to make a change). If Dick performs Stitt will play him.
