I am thrilled with his decision. Not to be dismissive of anyone else but hands down Nathan Dick was the top high school football player in Montana.
At 5' 10" I doubt he is competing for QB at UM yet the kid's football IQ is off the charts. He is a natural competitor, cat quick, and unafraid of contact. Don't know at what position he will play but I do know he will excel.
If he was the top high school football player in Montana, why was he offered a partial by both schools?
On a similar note, when was the last time a GPOY was offered anything less than a "full-ride" out of high school?
Before answering, keep in mind I think Nate Dick is going to be a successful college football player for the Griz at some position.
Vim, you're trolling. You might also ask, "If he was the top high school player in MT why wasn't he offered at USC?" There is a big difference between the top high school player and the top college prospect. For that matter a great offensive lineman can be a better college prospect than any of the 'skill' positions.
I haven't seen all of the MT kids this year but I've watched Nathan play for years. I know what he is capable of, and I don't think anyone in MT matched his skill level. FWIW, I also saw four games with Troy Andersen playing QB. Andersen is the better "college prospect" because he is four inches taller, 30 lbs heavier, and a step faster. Yet Andersen sure as hell isn't a college QB prospect either. We can squabble over this but at the MT high school level I honestly don't think there was a better player this year than Nathan Dick. That is my observation.
