My vote is for Dani Bartsch

There's a lot more to be said about the Montana Griz WBB team (6-2)... now in second place behind EWU and NAU tied for first with 6-1 records.
But tonight my focus is on Dani Bartsch, who just logged her second double-double of this week in Montana's 84-57 win over Sac State today. Possibly because she's such a "team-first" player, I think she often gets overlooked. But she shouldn't. Her stats indicate she shouldn't.
After scoring 13 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, a block and a steal in Thursday's 87-46 win over the Vikings, Dani took things up several notches today.
Today, vs. the Hornets, Dani scored 15 points (5-11... all of them treys) and pulled down 14 rebounds. But it was what else she did that really impressed me: Ever in the middle of the mid-paint battles, Dani had 4 blocks and three steals, and was in on at least 3 jump ball tussles. Oh, and... add two assists to Dani's box score stats.

And, oh... about Dani's Big Sky Conference stats: REBOUNDING -- first (1st) with 183 for a 9.6 pg. average... 26 ahead of the second place rebounder; BLOCKS -- fifth (5th) with 20; and STEALS -- sixth (6th) with 30,

I don't know if any other Big Sky player had a similar week, but in my book as a long-time fan, I'm hoping Dani gets consideration for the Big Sky POW award. Go GrisWBB.

I have a question, since Dani's points were all threes. I haven't watched the Lady Griz a lot this year but watched most of today's game on ESPN+. Do they always shoot that many threes?

Feels like the last couple weeks they have.

Agree it is the true team effort that is important to her. The points and rebounds are great but it is the other stuff like blocks, steals and assists that show what a true valuable player she is. Just think if her twin sister was playing with her instead of volleyball at Boise State--that would be something to watch!

Yes Lady Griz always shoot that many 3s. Some games they don’t make as many. Agree re Dani Bartsch. She’s invisibly everywhere! Best rebounder I’ve ever seen. nAU and EWU seem to have more complex plays beyond the 3point powers, compared to Griz. But I have faith in the teams veterans like Dani, Carmen and Gina to be stalwart competitors. Combination of seasoned and new talent makes the games fun to watch.
