Okay, GrizRule, I will respond to several things you said.
Regarding the first pick, I agree that JJ must not have seen the linebacker. Had he waited a split second to make the throw, it probably would have been a TD. However, the fact that the linebacker was in the position, and able to drop into coverage and not be seen by JJ, was mainly because UM was throwing over the middle.
I don't find the offenses of NFL teams to have much relevance to college football. The NFL and college games are too dissimilar, in my view. Apples and oranges. Different schemes and different quality of personnel.
I have no particular views on great offensive football or championship offensive football. I just want college teams that will figure out a way to win, with defense, offense, special teams, elimination of mistakes, and having the desire, will and heart to win games. Offenses depend on coaches, personnel, conferences, etc. In college ball at the FCS level, most teams don't have enough schollies and personnel to have great offenses and defenses. Some teams allocate more to one side of the ball, to the detriment of the other side of the ball. I am fine with a team like NDSU, which found a way to recruit alot of stud player on their lines and elsewhere, and have had great success with a power (not dynamic or exciting) offense and a very good defense. Generally, I think a team wins more games with a strong defense than a prolific offense, but I'm happy with a team that finds a way to get it done anyway they want.
I am going to support the team, players and coaches alike, no matter what. I am going to be positive almost all of the time. I don't wear maroon colored glasses. I often express disappointment, negative comments and criticisms. Maybe you should pay more attention to what I actually say, instead of saying things that aren't what I said or making general "maroon colored glasses" comments.
