I suppose it’s a general rule that, like baseball, there’s no crying in football. Admittedly, beautiful moments (like that App State, Miller to Farris TD catch and the “how ‘bout that red-headed kid” sign) always make me cry. But you know what there is in football? Irony; a shit-ton of irony.
Isn’t it ironic that due to the stance of a dude named Colin, the NFL went to the Dems in the divorce (at least for a while)?
Isn’t it ironic that the poster who questions the viewpoints of everyone else has a god damned broken question mark (bqm)
Isn’t it ironic that one year ago this month, eGrizzers posted a thread about Hauck coming here but it was all sarcasm, tongue-in-cheek because, of course that was never going to happen?
Isn’t it ironic that a pervasive tone of bullying and misogyny that was so bad that it even offended most of you hard-ass bastards was forcibly shut down by the very person who led the charge on crassness?
Isn’t it ironic that a Missoulian guest column supporting Hauck and condemning harassment drew angry messages to the writer from men on BOTH the anti-Hauck and pro-Hauck camps?
Isn’t it ironic that this newly-returning female poster who is probably too soft, prefers to post philosophy, sarcasm and innuendo is good buds with the stats-and-facts, one-upping, often intolerant, heavily trolled lawyer dude that you like to pick on?
Isn’t it ironic that BW, trying to disassociate himself from a past mouthy moment actually drew more attention to it, causing many of us to search for our more embarrassing, mouthy, maybe drunken posts?
Isn’t it ironic that Chris is engaged to a Bobcat?
Isn’t it ironic that the veteran posters here who tout the abilities and potential of young players and recruits also harass the shit out of young, enthusiastic posters who are likely their classmates?
Isn’t it ironic that I pointed that out, but still find the taunting hilarious?
Isn’t it ironic that this game of football draws so much political ire, controversy, excitement, camaraderie, discussion, infighting, hope, careers, lessons, community…..yet there are clueless people out there who still use the phrase, “it’s just a game?”
