Musburger gives Griz plug

Does Musburger have some sort of UM connection. I have heard him plug the Grizzlies at least 2 or 3 other times. I know once he was doing a CU game and talked about Ochs transferring there and how great the tradition at UM is.

His family is partial owner of the Stockfarm in Hamilton.

I remember back in the day, during the early 90's when Delvon and company was at the UofM, my favorite chant from the band and the student section... "Warm up the bus."...Or the USA chant from the potato game/incident against the UofI in January of 90 I think...Potatoes flying everywhere.

Those was my 10 pound bag of Potatoes... NO LIE

Football players draging Granolas off by the hair as they are pelted by patotoes... what a scene

ESPN Comentator (Vital I think) "There are protestors on the court, they are being hit by something... Oh wow they are patotoes... the protestors are being hit with patatoes"!!!! ONLY IN MONTANA

USA Chanted PRICELESS

I think it is bush for the band to do the "overrated" bit before the game even starts. Come to think of it, I don't ever like the "overrated" chant.

This chant makes no sense. If you're chastising the other team for being overrated, you're diminishing your team's accomplishment in defeating them.

I could not agree more. It is a very stupid chant. Wouldn't you want all the teams you beat to be rated. Give our team a chance to prove ourselves and not be berated.

It has it's time and place-not every game. When we played Western and they start it after the opening tip (as they always do) it is totally stupid. First Western is NAIA and not even ranked there. How are they over-rated? They're not. Secondly, how can anyone say a team is over-rated based on a tip? It's totally stupid to do it then.

But to chant it late in a game when you have a ranked team beaten, it is awesome. Unfortunately we can never use it properly.

I first heard this at Gopher games in the early 90's when the Gophers would beat Purdue or Indiana or other highly-ranked teams. It would happen in the final minute or so, when the game is at hand. To have 15,000 people chanting it and it means something, I thought it was awesome.

I agree that the way we do it is lame though.
