MSU vs SMU

Well, since I believe App would beat the cats, the monmouth claim is pure BS. Those guys will be brought down to earth soon enough, and be a non factor about playoff time. And I will be the first to remind them!

Oh we'll be there... You guys just need to focus and not piss down your legs in your tough games coming up. You better make they playoffs this year, so we can beat you twice in the same year. Black Jesus will not lose to the Griz in his senior season so you might as well let go of that pipe dream. :thumb:

 Wow, I thought that we used that term to talk shit. Apparently little brother is accepting it with open arms.

And the "Playmaker" will not lose to the cats in his junior season! 8-)

Keep in mind it wasn't poorgriz that drew the red line. It was the rest of the world that drew the red line.

could the cats beat SMU? Yes, will they? not likely. SMU is a solid FBS team and would win the bsc easily if they played in it. Would SMU go through our conference undefeated? maybe but probably not but they would certainly win our conference. The cats are not likely going to win this game. Cats are a good team until they have to play a team with a dominant o and d line like the griz or ndsu.

Cats will get manhandled in the trenches on both sides of the ball against SMU, just like they will on Nov 23. They will lose both games handily!
Do you think SMU is big or something

OL avg 6-4 296
DL avg 6-3 260*

*SMU rins a 3-4 which only has one big run stopping DT
Well that even out cuz MooU don't have any backs

Wrong....MSU has some great backs, and you know it. Hopefully they can catch passes, because they're likely to be playing catch up this weekend.I watched the MSU/Monmouth game, and the SMU/TT game. Based on those games only, SMU will handle the Cats easily. I expect SMU to score at least 40; the Cats to be under 25.
Umm no, they don't have great backs. I know that. Who? Kirk and a couple no namers? Are ya kidding me? Kirk has had a whopping 75 against Montana in the 3 years. GTFO here with that sh1t. Face it, with all them big time playoff wins, the cants are the real deal BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

this. throw in the heat factor and it is going to get ugly. s.m.u. 45, m.s.u. 17. don't let those first week scores fool you.

Well, its tough to acclimate to that kind of humidity and heat. Even healthy young men; it's nuts, I think. The game will not be a measure of the Bobcat football team if they lose.

they'll have a hard time beating s.f.a. down there in two weeks. it's even muggier there.

I know what you're saying and agree up to a point. Though this game should be a fair measure of how effective the new cat offense is. How many points they're able to put up should show the value (or lack of) of their much hyped new scheme. Even with the spotty effort by the SMU offense vs Tech I really don't expect the cat defense to be able to keep up on that side of the ball. However if the cats are to win I believe they must hold SMU under 20.

Despite the huge smack it will generate on here by the blue & gold kids I hope the cats pull it off. Though the most likely outcome remains an SMU win by 35-17 or 42-21.
:ugeek: Good luck little brother.

msu kittens do not have the speed to contend with SMU. Kirk can run but will be stopped cold>

Other factors to consider is msu always melts down against top teams, always! Hot is hot like in muggy. SMU is a low rung team but still has enough to beat the P out of scats.

msu must hope for a good showing or they will begin the usual slide downward.......

I respectfully disagree. I think with all the success of FCS teams against better FBS teams already (EWU being in the conference even), MSU should definitely win this one. If they don't, they should fall out of the top 10 for sure. They can also kiss the BSC title goodbye if they lose.

If the Cats are as good as their fans say they are, they should roll SMU.

that's good stuff.

at least now you set yourself up perfectly for a win-win. if the cats play really well (like they'll have to to have a shot in this game) and win you can come back and say it's no big deal...they were supposed to win. if we lose, (whether we play well or not) you can come back and say how bad we sucked and that we choked and that our season is over.

in reality this will be a very difficult game for the cats to win. I certainly think they have a shot and I know they're not intimidated with a school like smu. but the numbers game alone gives them an edge which is why they are a 2-score favorite.

but I've been a part of this board for a long time and know you're a pretty smart guy. so you already knew all that. you're getting better. still not quite in alpha's league yet but definitely getting better and that is to be commended. :thumb:

Since when does a non-conference, play-up game have anything to do with a BSC Championship?

That's a stretch by any measure.

Thanks, but I'm serious about this. The Cats should beat SMU. I don't care how hot it is, FBS v. FCS, or any of that bullshit. It's football team v. football team. One team is a shell of its former self and coming off a thumping. From what I've read, the other team is the new big thing and coming off a throttling of a damned good Monmouth team that beat a playoff team last year. It's really a must win for the Cats.

i'm not sure listening to chest beating by anonymous posters on a message board should be the best place for you to accept reliable information. if I did that same thing here I would consider the griz real crappy because they almost never live up to fans expectations. :o

couldn't I read the comments here after the app game and make the assumptions that if you guys even lose a single game this year and fail to win it all that your team sucks? after all, you're the new big thing who just beat an amazing app team and losing a game the rest of the year really would be unacceptable...

i'll let the rest of you do the back and forth pissing matches. as for me...I saw one game from the cats, one game from the griz, one game from app, and one game from smu. if that's enough information for you guys to predict the rest of the season more power to you. I don't have that kind of talent.

guess it's cause I've never played the game...

Momentum and self-perception. Cats have to win this to keep up the momentum. If they lose, I see a slide.
