I'm a slow reader. For starters, there were allegations of Nazi propaganda on campus, racial slurs yelled at other teams at FB games, death threats made by an MSU organization to those who planned to attend the off-campus event, which was organized by another MSU organization, and MSU's decision to accept the dissolution of a student-to-student protective order as a settlement term in a lawsuit an MSU student filed against the university. Other than that, not a whole lot had to do with the university. :thumb:

Yes, they are allegations. And, in the article it was stated that law enforcement investigated them all. It also stated a number of pro-active actions that were taken, in addition to numerous campus events to help support students. The protective order you mention was terminated after 17 months. Is that a reasonable amount of time? We don't know as we don't have any facts. I guess you didn't make it thru the whole article or you are choosing just to deliberately present one side to cast MSU in a negative light.

The protected party did not want the order dissolved, was a non-party to the lawsuit against MSU at issue, and received only post hoc notice of the dissolution. I guess I'll believe her, because those are the only facts I need. You can act like MSU handled all of these (7+) complaints perfectly, but they didn't. They didn't.

Again, you choose to believe her because it fits your narrative. That's fine. The DOJ investigation will determine if MSU was right or wrong. I just presented MSU's side of the story. When I read their side and all the actions they took the author's assertion that they ignored harassment didn't add up.

My turn to copy/paste:

"Alexandra Lin is the MSU student who wanted the no-contact order to stay in place and whose lawyer argued the university should have kept it in place to protect her."

"The no-contact order was between two students, however, and the other student was a plaintiff in a politically charged lawsuit against MSU. On March 3, the plaintiff signed a settlement to release MSU of charges on condition MSU dissolve the no-contact order."

"A March 8 notice to Lin, who was not party to the lawsuit, said MSU removed the no-contact order “independent of the litigation” (LIE, according to the article) and because no violations had occurred over 17 months."

Emphasis all mine. Link to article in OP.

Well, don't count ME as negative toward MSU, in THIS matter anyway.
That LE has investigated and referred the matter to prosecutors(a whole other matter)and nothing has been done, should be the end. The prosecutors can't even get the DUI affairs settled.
These clowns didn't like the outcome, so they got some ambulance chaser to come up with this sh*t. A big bowl of nothing. Typical leftwing manoeuver.

Here are the cliff notes for the article about the multiple, horrific Federal complaints filed against MSdUI

I copy pasted from it and added only one space for the word quee r because it is censored for some dumb reason to queer

for “failing to respond appropriately”

received more than 20 complaints

by failing to respond appropriately

MSU is failing to provide a safe environment for LGBTQ+ students and other minority students

the “conservative fervor” in Montana and the MSU administration’s quiet deference to it supports a political climate on campus that led to the complaints.

Office for Civil Rights may open additional related investigations

MSU “completely failed” to address threats

leadership stayed quiet for weeks

the message the president finally sent fell far short

left students in the dark

protecting the student’s identity and gender because the student is on an MSU scholarship and fears retaliation.

university administration as “indifferent … at best”

“One of my friends refuses to go out without wearing a belt and laced shoes, so that they can improvise a tourniquet

MSU removed a mutual no-contact order it had put in place to protect two students

deliberate indifference for which the University may be held liable in damages

q ueer had their head slammed

Nazi imagery and eugenics propaganda

posters plastered

other student was a plaintiff in a politically charged lawsuit

settlement to release MSU of charges on condition MSU dissolve the no-contact order

received numerous death threats, graphic images of Asian porn, and racist messages, such as an email telling her to “Kill yourself, ch–k.” She provided screenshots of the harassing messages

threats are horrific, but the actions of our university administration are worse

MSU administration has failed to protect students

left MSU in part because he no longer wanted to face white supremacism, he said. He was called the “n” word at MSU, saw Nazi propaganda in trash cans on campus, and heard Bobcats at a football game “screaming racial slurs to members of the other team.”

MSU’s lack of swift public acknowledgement that LGBTQ+ students had received threats, including the death threat, is one subject of several complaints the university is failing minority students.

harassing emails, including one that said people who planned to attend the queer-friendly dance party downtown would meet an early death

The subject line from the Feb. 16 email said “killing all the groomers and f—ts” (the email spelled out the slur). The message said sinners needed to turn away from “isis terrorists” and Sharia law to the “white god of Christianity.” A second email Feb. 23 said “true Montanans” would “expel” “colored people” from campus and the state.

MSU administration did not publicly address the death threat and ensuing hate mail until Sunday, March 26, more than four weeks after

deemed the response too little, too late.

MSU does not track the reasons students decide to leave

Someone once posted that the DOE wouldn't be there if there weren't problems.

And ohhhhhhh are there problems. My early hunch is combined with the coaches criminal charges, waded doesn't survive this.

Let’s all go to our corners and wait until Krakauer tells us what’s really happening in “Bozeman”.

Is this still a site to discuss athletics? Or, is it just another social media bitch site to express social opinions? This site has gone down hill so much.....

This one's gunna be tougher to bury than criminal charges against some football coaches.

The culture of Montana State University has been shown and confirmed. Garbage people attempting to shield garbage actions by other garbage people. That’s what MSU has shown itself to be. Pure trash.

Your said "We don't know as we don't have any facts."

When the administration stays mum and always goes with the WAAC Attitude 🤔
What facts do you expect ? And how long are you willing to wait for those facts?

Pretty sad some people here will pander to anything just because their rival has a better football program. But they’ll hide behind some moral hierarchy. Some people here throw away common sense just to self indulge in spitting on a logo. Pretty sad. But I get it. UM wants to get as far away from the touchy touchy scandal as possible. The one they heavily stated as the media being terribly wrong. But here it’s happy readings!

The latter. You've been gone a while, there's been some changes.

Still the same tripe. Hoops holding court calling everyone jerks, creeps, and idiots, without recourse. The Bobcats' issues receiving 75 % of the posts. Sad.

I was referring to lack of facts by the author in this article as to the protective order being lifted and the related court case. The author provides no context.

Wrong. The author explicitly stated that the protective order was lifted so MSU could settle a lawsuit it was defending. MSU did so with no notice to the protected party. This isn’t very difficult to understand.

You don't think this will impact athletics?
