Msu OC charged with DUI

If there is damage in excess of $1,000, caused by an accident on a public "highway," the operator of the crashed/damaged vehicle is supposed to report it or otherwise be subject to the citation of the above stated MCA code.

Further MCA definition of public highway- Any road open to the public, in the state of Montana, is considered a public highway and all rules and regulations apply.

For example: Say a person lost control of vehicle on a MTN road, crashed and caused damage to their vehicle in excess of $1,000 can be, and I've personally witnessed, MHP Troopers cite for both losing control of a vehicle on a Mtn road, as well as leaving the scene w/o reporting it. There's several reasons, the most important, IN MY OPINION, not necessarily MCA statute, is it unnecessarily ties up LE and first responders thinking there may be injured individuals inside or nearby in need of lifesaving medical care. You'd be surprised how many people just drive by a rollover crash without stopping to see if anyone is actually inside and just call 911 to report it while they continue driving away. Not everyone, of course, but more than you'd think. Folks are afraid of getting shot, and I honestly can't say I blame them.

I just can't bring myself to go to the site, so can't confirm.

Maybe one of the better cat posters can clarify/confirm/deny?

I went there to look. I think I can still count my visits on two hands. One user said he represented a star Bobcat WR who was facing six or seven charges, beat them all, and kept everything out of the papers. What a weird thing to post!

I slightly disagree with your characterization of the thread. It’s not as “rah-rah leadership always does the right thing” as I thought it would be. Plenty of Bobfans saying both coordinators should be gone. But, you’re right, many apologists.

Hopping in the shower now.

I figured it was less than described to me. Thanks.

Who is the drinking buddy that drove the wrecked government car while doofus drove the other car? Was it the DC, coach chug a lug?

No info on that yet. I don’t think it wast a government car. They have courtesy cars from dealerships that they use.

Didn’t the report say it was an msu-owned vehicle? If it was a dealership vehicle, it would be owned by the dealer, not the university, no?

At a minimum, the coach should be suspended or put on admin. leave. Horrible look for MSU. Nationwide, coaches are often fired for dui charges, sometimes.

Two in a row is inexcusable.

The head coach has the authority to take action, but he hasn't and isn't. Failure of leadership. I don't know where the supposedly all-star president is.

While written policies should be adhered to, no policy would ever say that nothing can be done for a dui until the charge is resolved.

msu “leadership” effed themselves with the one-practice suspension given to their DC, because, you know, it’s the playoffs and we’re a win-at-all-costs program.

They’ve used a very bright, obnoxious oil base to paint themselves deep into a corner. Tough to take any punitive action here when you didn’t on Mr. DUI3.

Can’t say I feel sorry for ‘em, but it’s a baaaaad look.

All that I know is that there are always a lot of dealer courtesy cars with MSU decals on them parked in the lot outside the fieldhouse and BAC. I see coaches driving them. I have never seen any State owned cars and I am around there frequently. Whether State owned or a courtesy car, it is still a bad situation. House showed piss poor judgement all the way around. Some interim action needs to be taken. Both coaches should have been suspended indefinitely until due process in court.

Didn't the article say it was a courtesy car?

The PC Police strike again!
I was referring to the driver who backed into me, in a parking lot. My laying on the horn didn't even register to him. This gentleman could hardly express himself in Spanglish. I called the Police just to get his information. I told the cop what I thought of that 'hatchback bastard,' to which he replied, "Me no hatchback!" And, no, the word I used wasn't 'hatchback.'
To say I was pissed is putting it mildly.

And, no, I didn't use 'JFC' or 'FFS' in my post. Rules for thee, but not for me?

Is DUI a felony in Montana?
'On your first, second, and third DUI, you'll be facing misdemeanor charges. But when you have three or more prior convictions, the fourth or subsequent offense is going to be a felony. A fourth DUI conviction carries up to five years in prison and $5,000 to $10,000 in fines.' -- Google.

'Exacerbating Circumstances
In Montana, certain circumstances can greatly increase the possible penalties for a DUI conviction.

Aggravated DUI. A DUI will be elevated to an aggravated DUI if the person's BAC was .16% or greater, the driver refused a chemical test, has a pending DUI charge or currently has a suspended/restricted license due to a DUI. The penalties for an aggravated DUI are significantly more severe than those for a normal DUI.'https://dui.drivinglaws.org/resources/montana-dui-laws.html

I guess a coach would have to be a felon to get canned at MSU. Huh. 'Canned Coach.' Look for that on your grocery shelf. Probably next to the Canned Tuna.

What you posted was racist and gross and has absolutely no business on a GRIZ (or any) board. Kudos to the mods for wiping it.

Everything and everybody is racist to race baiting a------s. Even certain Interstate Highways are called racist. Here, take a moment and educate yourself as to the origin of the term I used. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wetback_(slur)

The whole courtesy-car-from-a-dealer sounds super sus to me. Makes it worse, not better, and more coverups.
Like another MSdewey policy to help avoid taking responsibility and having consequences.
If you’re driving down the road and you see the red lettering state plates, you know the person driving is official. But some rando dealer plate….errrr…who knows?
