   I haven't seen any concerns about culture on BN. Coming from NDSU, culture is not a problem.

Can you imagine when he shows up to a press conference at the shed in a flat-billed hat, skinny jeans, and no facial hair?!?
Actually, like always, you are completely wrong. I was the one trying to make him feel better; I felt sorry for him; and he is fortunate to have me as a neighbor.bigsky33 said:garizzalies said:Saw my neighbor. I thought he would be gleaming and proclaiming but he was reserved and a bit dejected. Like he was just glad it was over and how he got to the point where he was willing to accept VanDiest. I think the boobcat hype machine had him whipped into a frenzy.
Finally when the news came out, he was kind of self-deprecating. He said Cowboy and Buffaloes fans hate this guy; horrible play caller and no HC experience. He only got the job because he likes 3yds/cloud of dust (“culture”), was willing to keep staff, in fact would prefer to not even hire a WR coach (no need), and he’s great at managing a “QB carousel“ (and has his own guy).
Poor guy. I told him I would not kick his dog tonight.
Sounds like a nice neighbor trying to make you feel good. He feels sorry for you knowing you are a grade school drop- out. You are fortunate to have him for a neighbor.

He really is down in the dumps over this. He was so sure it was going to be some big name. I was looking for some horse shit for him as I know how much he loves the smell, but, alas, too much snow right now. Hang in there little buddy! This too shall pass

He’s pretty down. Really down. You guys had him thinking they would get a big time coach, not some schmoe who still spikes his hair.poorgriz said:garizzalies said:Actually, like always, you are completely wrong. How down could he be? If you really are a thoughtful neighbor, go home tonight and remind him the last year the griz beat the Cats was 2015. Obama was president. That really SHOULD cheer him up. :thumb:

He is basically the opposite of Choach. Guarantee he had to read from a cue card for this promo. If you held a cue card up to Choach I’m sure he would eat it. Take a bite out of it at least. Not sure Choach could read anyway.

Have avoided posting on this circus, but I too was puzzled by the insistence on keeping the assistants. Just a bit ago, I did come up with a strange WAG (wild because I've never heard of such a thing for assistants): But do you supposed there are big buy-out clauses in their contracts if they are let go early? I can't really imagine the AD being that stupid ... but it would explain a lot.Ursus1 said:The fact that they went so far deep into their offers to just find a guy that would keep assistants should scare the hell out of fans. Any head coach not being able to choose his staff based on what he thinks of them, likely loyalty to him, knowledge in what he wants to run, a good match personality wise is just asking for trouble. Crazy way to run a search.

That would be my thought too. But perhaps they feel so "hard up" over there, that that was enough.HelenaHandBasket said:IdaGriz01 said:Have avoided posting on this circus, but I too was puzzled by the insistence on keeping the assistants. At the FCS level, I would be fairly certain that there was zero buyout other than the entirety of their current contract.
