"He" is Chad Schreier. And he absolutely wants to take over the UM Bookstore. Barnes & Noble is not doing a good job. They dropped thier corporate sponsorship w/ UM and are consistenly over priced and out of books needed by students. There are already stories of UM students purchasing their books from MSU because they are cheaper and actually in stock.
So you actually think UM would sell its bookstore to MSU bookstore CEO, Chad Schreier? Buying the M Store is one thing, but pulling this off in a realistic world seems very far fetched! Can you imagine the sh$t show this would create at the next BoR meeting. People would be at the gates screaming for heads to be loped off. Changing the Barnes & Noble contract is one thing, but this? Also, so many professors are moving to online books. My son only had to buy one physical book this year. Last year, as a freshman, he bought 3 his first semester and 2 books his second semester. He is a business and finance major at Montana, so I cannot speak to other majors. He also bought those at the bookstore and not through Amazon because they were the same price.
